Japans Public Broadcaster Mistakenly Sends Out North Korean Missile Alert

Source: AP/Talking Points Memo

TOKYO (AP) — Japan’s public broadcaster mistakenly sent an alert warning citizens of a North Korean missile launch and urging them to seek immediate shelter, then retracted it minutes later, days after a similar error in Hawaii.

NHK television issued the message Tuesday on its internet and mobile news sites as well as on Twitter, saying North Korea appeared to have fired a missile at Japan. It said the government was telling people to take shelter.
...
NHK deleted its tweet after several minutes, issued a correction and apologized several times on air. It said a mistake in using the alert system caused the error.

having been hacked (both Japan and the US), so these events are reported as user error.

As someone stated in a post from Sunday, most of us have to confirm three times whether we want to delete an email. The push of a single button to announce a nuclear attack seems preposterous.

The irony of our enemies (and there are many foreign and domestic), weaponizing our own defense systems to attack us.

warning systems in place for decades and NOW there's two user error issues in two separate countries a couple days apart? Doesn't pass the smell test to me.

Is there any official look/see into this? Will we ever even know?

Intended to start wars

Only logical conclusion.

Occams razor.

Next one could be real and the response will be delayed because of these false alarms.
