Andrew Young: Trump is 'being educated' on race
Source: The Hill
BY MALLORY SHELBOURNE - 01/14/18 11:41 AM EST
Andrew Young, a former U.S. ambassador to the United Nations who also served as the mayor of Atlanta, said in a new interview that President Trump is becoming educated on the subject of race.
I think he's being educated. And it's not a matter of educating Donald Trump. It's a matter of educating our entire society, Young told NBCs Meet the Press when asked how to educate the president on race.
-snip-
Young on Sunday argued that making Trump become a saint wont change various issues facing the country, like unemployment and North Koreas nuclear aggression. Getting President Trump to be a saint is not going to change the employment situation, it's not going to change the global economy, it's not going to deal with the tensions between North Korea and the United States, Young continued.
This is a difficult world. And it doesn't help to label people. You know, you don't help someone who has an alcohol problem by constantly calling him a drunk. You have to deal with the sickness.

(6,212 posts)first trump is and always has been a racist and he knows exactly what a racist is. I can't relate unemployment and North Korea nuclear aggression to the subject of racism. I don't think anyone is trying to make trump a saint, that would be impossible, we are just trying to make it known he is not fit intellectually or morally to be president.

(343 posts)Andrew Young had the chance to say the truth - that Trump is a worthless piece of crap racist. But he went all Buddha
and love and Trump is just misinformed. Yeah, right. People need to start calling Trump what he is, not sugar coating it.

Oh and then there's this gem:
"Young on Sunday argued that making Trump become a saint wont change various issues facing the country, like unemployment and North Koreas nuclear aggression."
No one is trying to make him a saint, you twit. We'd be happy at this point if we could just manage to make him an adult.

(90,787 posts)Has absolutely nothing to do with someone becoming a saint. That's a manufactured goalpost ain't nobody aiming for in regards to Trump.
A racist president is a president that isn't fit to serve.
I don't give a rat's ass what was acceptable at one time - if anyone still finds it acceptable then I question any concerned voiced by those who do. Because if a racist is acceptable then anything at all is acceptable. Anything. No matter what. No low is too low for you. No damage is too great.
As for the education of Trump. That's a pipe dream. Delusional.
Yes, the entire country does need an education in race relations - but that doesn't change the danger of a racist president.
