Ryan: 'I don't see us tackling' entitlement reform this year

Source: The Hill

BY JESSIE HELLMANN - 01/12/18 01:02 PM EST

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) acknowledged Friday that entitlement reform isn't likely to happen in 2018.

"I don't see us tackling it this year," Ryan said at an event in Wisconsin. "You're going to have to find bipartisan consensus to fix these thorny, long-term problems, and we don't have that right now."

Ryan appears to be backing down for previous he statements he's made about turning to entitlement reform in 2018.

"We're going to have to back next year at entitlement reform, which is how you tackle the debt and deficit," Ryan said in an interview in December.

It's midterms this year and with a blue wave coming, the last thing he wants is to make it even bigger.

it is best for them to pass on the problem to the next Congress and the Democrats!

That will minimize the damage and ensure a shorter opposition role

They are not entitlements, they are earned benefits.

The Repugs have been using the debt and deficit as an excuse for robbing the common wealth for decades.

He's only suggesting they'll take a break in 2018 because it's an election year.

We have one chance to throw the buggers out.

He's just waiting for the deficits to skyrocket, caused by his cherished tax cuts for the rich, and then he'll say this isn't what we want to do but it's necessary, so what choice do we have? Our rich people have sucked up all the money so now we have to steal our workers' SS savings and greatly reduce spending on Medicare and Medicaid. Oh, that growing the economy thing through tax cuts, well, we're still waiting for the jobs and wages, which will come (wink, wink) but have to juice the economy by stealing SS $$ first.

OK, he won't use those exact words, but that's exactly what the RW wants and have planned to do this for decades and you know Ryan will do everything humanly possible to steal all working class $$ and benefits.

He didn't talk about entitlement (actually "earned benefits&quot reform, other than to tell his Red Hats that they didn't have to worry about changes to Social Security or Medicare. He didn't lie to us, did he? Donnie Two Scoops would never lie, believe me!
