Fox News praises Trump "because he's not killing anyone"

In response to Trump’s infantile (and as-yet-unscheduled) “Fake News Awards” ceremony, the Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) put out a list of top press oppressors this week, handing Trump the award for “Overall Achievement in Undermining Global Press Freedom.”

That honor did not sit well with the folks at “Fox & Friends,” or their guest Katie Frates, editor at The Daily Caller.

DOOCY: He is the top oppressor in the world. In Mexico, six journalists were murdered. In Russia, two were murdered. In the Philippines two were murdered. And yet, Donald Trump is not only the top oppressor, he is also the most thin skinned, according to this outfit.

FRATES: Again, clearly that’s wrong. Look, like, it is true that Trump does have a thin skin. You can see it in how he behaves on Twitter with the media. But again, he cannot be the worst because he’s not killing anyone. And there are presidents that are murdering journalists.

6. He's given the military carte blanche on drone strikes in the Middle East and the number of civilian

deaths have shot up. He dropped the “mother of all bombs”. He supports the Saudi attacks on Yemen and the blockade. The cases of cholera there have reached a million, and people are literally starving to death. What’s happening in Yemen makes Guernica look like a cake walk. It reminds me of the Roman destruction of Carthage or Alexander’s sack of Tyre. His rhetoric has stoked racial hatred which has inspired homocides in Charlottesville and Portland and elsewhere around the country. His response, or lack thereof, to the crises in Puerto Rico is criminal negligence.

Maybe they are lauding him for not being a serial killer. That’s called damning with faint praise, whether they know it or not. As it’s Fox News . . .

8. Look no further than the tax scam bill,

which will cut medical health care off for 20 million or more after it starts raising their premiums, raising all costs to get it, and all the women's health care that depends on free or lower costing clinics. Add to it their plans to destroy Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security, and eliminating worker safety protections killing many workers because they've allowed companies to remove costs for their safety. Add their environmental laws they've reduced or eliminated . He's got this country heading for a Flint like problem on a national scale. Fox news is his propaganda network, just like RT is for Russia.
