Trump defends new tax-cut bill amid negative polls

Source: The Hill

BY OLIVIA BEAVERS - 12/24/17 04:08 PM EST

President Trump on Sunday touted provisions in the recently-passed GOP tax plan, while pushing back against polls that indicate the measure is unpopular among the U.S. public.

The president claimed "insider polls" indicate that support for the tax-cut plan is "strong," while launching one of his regular attacks against the media, referring to "fake news" reports.

Several polls indicated a majority of Americans don't like the new measure.

An NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll found last week that a majority of Americans, 63 percent, say the bill will benefit the wealthy and corporations, compared to 22 percent who say the plan will help all individuals equally.

He is pointing out the things that we need to emphasize and that he fears - drilling in Alaska and his latest attempt to kill health care for all.

The polls are so low they had to call Russians to get it above 20%, but they were hard to understand them because they were laughing so hard.

tweets. Just ignored them completely. Think he'd be pissed enough to just stop? Because, I've decided come the new year, I'm done with all things tRump. I can't take anymore of his bullshit. Wish everyone would just ignore him too. His ego driven tweets deserve no attention, NONE!

Only I'd take it a step further. Ignore everything about this mis-administration. Have no press coverage of Sarah Huckleberry Sander's "press briefings", no coverage of his tweets, no coverage of any of his 'speeches' ( "speech" being used only in the loosest sense ). He'd go ballistic! He craves attention like a junkie craves another fix. HE HAS TO HAVE IT!

If no one was paying attention, what would be the point of being pResident?

I don't think you could ever get the entire press corps to do this, but it sure would be a very telling experiment into Trump's mental condition.
