Top general tells Marines to be prepared for a big fight
Source: Washington Post
The Marine Corps commandant told about 300 Marines in Norway this week that they should be prepared for a bigass fight to come, remarks his spokesman later said were not in reference to any specific adversary but rather intended to inspire the troops.
I hope Im wrong, but theres a war coming, Gen. Robert Neller told the Marines on Thursday, according to Military.com. Youre in a fight here, an informational fight, a political fight, by your presence.
Neller was visiting a Marine rotational force near Trondheim, about 300 miles north of Oslo. The Marines have been stationed there since January. Their presence in Norway is intended to support operations by NATO and the U.S. European Command, as well as to help the Marine Corps facilitate training in cold weather and mountainous conditions.
But Neller and other Corp leaders told the force they should be prepared for a change in their peacetime mission, should the need arise. In particular, Neller predicted the Pacific and Russia to be the focus of any conflict in the future outside of the Middle East, Military.com reported.

(36,095 posts)The Post could have at least reported that they asked what Pacific and Russia "bigass fight" scenarios exist, or what realities are out there to base his announcement on.
This is just enough to scare civilians but not inform them. Weird.

(3,076 posts)... Obama started resupplying/reactivating forward staging facilities in Scandinavia. I have also read reports that a few years ago, Marines actually DID cross into Russian territory near Finland? I do recall that Putin was whining in the press about U.S. of A. violating Russian territory near that time.
Anyway, google is our friend:

He was at Chosin Reservoir and we were both there for Tet 68. That your father survived that...I salute him.... And hell no I would not fight for any war the idiotboypotus starts......ever...I would leave this country behind.
I volunteered for the Army and Vietnam, just in case some superpatriot fro JPR-DI wants to judge me.

(21,107 posts)My father would not talk about his time in Korea much. The thing about the cold was about all I ever heard from his voice. My mother told me at a latter date that he had been a POW. The things that I know about that part of it are horrendous.

(28,270 posts)War on the poor, sick and elderly. The dismantling and looting of America by the 1% robber barons and wall street.
Then a hot war with thousands of poor Americans caught up in the economic draft in this country.
The MIC just can't restrain their glee. A steady stream of body bags filled with the poor equals immense profits for those dirty bastards.
It never ends. It never changes.
