Former aide accuses Rep. Bobby Scott of sexual misconduct

Source: NBC News

A former aide to Rep. Bobby Scott on Friday accused the Virginia Democrat of sexual misconduct and said he fired her after she rebuffed his alleged advances.

At a press conference, Macherie Reese Everson, who goes by Reese, said that Scott touched her inappropriately on two occasions in 2013 and that he flirted with her.

Everson said that when she declined the overtures, she was "retaliated against" by being fired.

Scott strongly denied the accusations.

We need to properly investigate these allegations including the backgrounds of accusers and the accused--especially if there is no evidence. In Franken's case the only evidence was a couple of smiling photos and a comedy shot. Women who have worked with Franken came out in droves--all saying he always acted appropriately.
Perhaps Everson is telling the truth and perhaps not.

Maybe she's telling the truth, but her appearing on there first before the press conference makes me think this could be an orchestrated hit job. Plus previously she said there was no physical contact but now she claims there was.

in 2015 she said there was no physical contact or harassment.

Then several weeks ago she is on Fox News and now she is saying something different.

In addition, Everson alleged in a 2011 lawsuit that she'd been fired from the City of Chicago's Office of Inspector General after she declined sexual advances by the office's chief investigator, according to USA Today. Everson withdrew the suit in 2012.

She has a history.

But the Dems exposed themselves as easy marks already. Republicans smell blood in the water.
