Donald Trump Jr. thinks FCC's Ajit Pai was Obama appointee

Source: Metro US

The Federal Communications Commission head who repealed net neutrality was actually put in place by President Trump.

Donald Trump Jr. apparently thinks the Federal Communications Commission head who killed net neutrality was appointed by former President Obama, when he was actually put in office by his father, President Trump.

Last night, in an attempt to pwn the libtards who were dismayed by the vote to kill the regulations preventing internet-service providers from charging more for access to certain content, Trump Jr. tweeted, "I would pay good money to see all those people complaining about Obama’s FCC chairman voting to repeal #NetNeutality actually explain it in detail. I’d also bet most hadn’t heard of it before this week. #outrage"

Aside from the irony of misspelling "net neutrality" while accusing its supporters of being uninformed, Trump Jr. made an erroneous reference to "Obama's FCC chairman." Ajit Pai was named chairman of the FCC by President Trump in January 2017. Pai had previously served as a member of the FCC beginning in 2012, when he was appointed by Obama. An FCC member is to the FCC head what a board member is to a CEO.

Upon taking office, Pai immediately announced his intent to repeal net neutrality, an Obama-era regulation that took effect in 2015. It essentially declared the internet to be a public utility, preventing internet-service providers from speeding up or slowing access to certain content. Supporters said this leveled the playing field: A major corporation couldn't pay for its content to stream faster than content coming from a competing small business or individual. Removing that protection would also theoretically allow ISPs to charge consumers more for access to video or streaming services, creating multi-tier plans instead of one-price-gets-all access.

Ajit Pai was put on the FCC by Obama.
He was not placed there as the FCC Chairman.

There are 5 FCC members.
The majority party gets 3 members
and the minority party gets 2 members.

The sitting President as a courtesy selects 2 members of the opposite party.
One of Obama's courtesy picks was Pai.

When Donnie-two-scoops took over, he promoted Pai to FCC because
he was such an anti-net neutrality proponent.

As much as I hate to say so, Spawn Jr. is not entirely incorrect.
Pai is an Obama selection, but as chairman, that falls on Cheetolini.

I often think that more then twenty years of "Hillary Hate" began with Bill, when he took office, remarking something to the effect that we were getting "two for one" with him and Hillary. Resentment toward her and her contributions (such as a healthcare plan) started then. Michelle Obama? Barack never made the same mistake, but after Eleanor Roosevelt, who broke the mold out of necessity, came Hillary and Michelle, outstanding in their own right, but walking a fine line with the public because of it. Michelle was smart enough to take a lesson from Hillary's treatment, let alone racial consideration (bare arms criticized versus nude poses?) Jackie was a style and fashion icon, and no dummy, but hardly got involved with WH issues beyond fashion and decorating. Other first ladies, of both parties, had their causes, but politely stayed in the background (as we were used to). Things are changing, and, despite a "Black" president who was just as much White, we seem to have a very long way still to go.

clear from the beginning she would stick to a circumscribed role, despite the fact she is very educated, capable and intelligent. The hatred and animosity towards Obama by the GOP congress made them both wary I am sure.

And yes the Obama girls have higher IQ points in their little fingers than the whole Trump family combined.

Net neutrality is a bipartisan issue, and this particular Senator feels it would be good to legislate neutrality instead of merely having an FCC appointee take a quick vote and screw all of us. Apparently, according to this staffer, there are some net neutrality bipartisan bills being introduced in the House. So, we'll see how it plays out.

By the way, did you see the MORON Cheetoh nominated for appointment to the Federal Court system? The idiot knows NOTHING about law.

Sigh...

so Obama appointed Pai as one of the 2 Republican members. Trump promoted him to chairman mainly to avoid Senate confirmation hearings on net neutrality
