ISTANBUL (Reuters) - Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday that the United States could no longer be a mediator in efforts to end Israeli-Palestinian conflict after its decision to recognize Israel as the capital of Israel.

“From now on, it is out of the question for a biased United States to be a mediator between Israel and Palestine, that period is over,” Erdogan told a news conference after a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.

“We need to discuss who will be a mediator from now on. This needs to be tackled in the UN too,” Erdogan said.

Or at least it should.
tRump and company (entire administration) should be ignored.
We have no one to properly mediate on behalf of the U.S., and we have lost our reputation that Obama repaired, with the help of Clinton and Kerry, after Bush.
Damn.

Be careful of what you ask for.....

The US was more sympathetic to Israel and was able to broker the Oslo Accords because neither the EU, Russia or China were in any position to project influence in the 90's.

Now, if the EU is the arbitrator, they will be sympathetic to the Palestinian cause. If Russia or China is involved, they want whats best for themselves.

'turkey got this right, it's either midnight or noon. US isn't even trying to mediate, it's trying to bully Palestinians into giving Israel everything it wants and accepting permanent slavery and loss of all lands.

"You acknowledge Israel's capital, you're evil. Be even-handed like us, and make Israel the leader in condemnations year after year. Only in hatred of Israel can you find fairness."

Erdogan's after any excuse to make sure that in trying to strike a balance, the 5-ton weight's firmly established on the side of the scale he favors. Even-handedness looks like extreme oppression to him.

About the same amount of time? How many years has the Us bankrupted it's working class to pay everything for the Israelis, they have 100% paid for healthcare and higher education, so they can afford to spend all their money stealing Palestinians' land and building up their war machines?
