Meghan McCain after Jones win: 'Suck it, Bannon'

Source: The Hill

BY BRANDON CARTER - 12/12/17 10:58 PM EST

Meghan McCain, the daughter of Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), blasted former White House chief strategist Stephen Bannon Tuesday night following the results of the Alabama Senate special election.

Jones’ stunning victory over Republican opponent Roy Moore comes after a closely-watched campaign to fill the seat vacated by Attorney General Jeff Sessions.

Moore was accused of sexual misconduct last month by multiple women, including one woman who alleged Moore initiated a sexual encounter with her when she was a teenager and he was in his 30s.

Moore denied the allegations, but faced calls to drop out of the race from top Republicans.

Flake on Jones victory: 'Decency wins'

BY BRETT SAMUELS - 12/12/17 10:58 PM EST

Flake, who has announced he will not seek re-election in 2018, was a vocal critic of Republican candidate Roy Moore.

Moore was plagued during the campaign by allegations of sexual misconduct, including accusations that he made advances to teenagers when he was in his 30s.

Flake wrote Jones’ campaign a $100 check, writing “Country over Party” in the memo line.

It's fine when the GOP think they're getting away with it.

It's not fine when someone comes right out and says it and blows their flimsy cover.

SPOT ON.

This is the Republican talking point that the loss is Bannon's fault.

Lay the blame where it belongs. This was a rejection of Donald Trump, period.

This was a rejection of Trump's tax cuts for the rich, a rejection of Trump's plan to gut the safety net.

Trump did the robocalls, this was Trump's guy.

Exit polling showed that the majority of voters felt that Trump was doing a bad job.

Stop the talking point of blaming Bannon, blame Trump.

Always better to vote for the Republican (because Daddy) except in the extreme cases of Trump and Moore when one should write in a name rather than vote for the Democrat. She tries very hard to push false equivalency and get in snide comments about Democrats. Her self-righteous smug opinions on politics are garbage. Too bad because as long as she doesn't talk about politics she can be charming and fun.

Who was the primary loser, obviously ... whereas Trump had originally wanted to back Moore ... and Bannon's 'ouster' ... followed soon thereafter ...

So, wasn't Bannon essentially 'proved right' over Trump, when Moore lost? Is it not safe to say Strange ... probably would've won?

And doesn't McCain & Family dislike Trump?

So, by what reasoning does it 'make sense' for Ms. McCain to direct this comment at Bannon?

Wouldn't 'suck it Trump' .. make more sense?

Am I totally mis-remembering?

Or is the whole thing even more Machiavellian?

Or is she just a tool, making no actual sense?

Sry bout that. Makes more sense now. I remember there was someone in his inner circle who encouraged him to back Strange who was supposedly in the doghouse when Moore won the primary. Must've been j-red.

Hard to keep all these f***face losers straight sometimes.
