Republicans plan Wednesday meeting to discuss Moore if he wins

If Roy Moore wins Tuesday night, Republicans who wanted no part of him in the Senate plan to meet privately about what to do next.

A meeting of Republican senators is tentatively scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday if Moore defeats Democrat Doug Jones, according to two GOP sources. Republican leaders — who've said during the Alabama campaign that Moore would face an ethics investigation over multiple allegations of sexual harassment — will lay out their procedural options for once he arrives in Washington.

Among the questions that will be addressed, according to one senior GOP source, are whether it's possible to deny Moore committee assignments or membership in the Republican conference. They will also discuss whether he would have access to the National Republican Senatorial Committee, and whether he would be invited to party lunches that convene several times per week.

Although Moore has the backing of President Donald Trump and the Republican National Committee, Senate Republicans have almost uniformly shunned the controversial former judge. Some of the alleged misconduct dates back decades, when the women were underage.

If Moore wins, he will be welcomed with open arms by the Senate republicans. Hell, they may even throw a party for him in celebration. The few, and I mean very few, Senators who spoke out against him will be shunned or perhaps they will reconsider and join the festivities. Would not be surprised by that at all, knowing republicans like I do.
