Sixth senator says Trump should resign

Source: Politico

By NOLAN D. MCCASKILL 12/12/2017 11:44 AM EST

A sixth senator on Tuesday called on President Donald Trump to resign amid renewed attention to past allegations of sexual harassment and assault.

Sen. Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii) told NBC News that Trump is a “misogynist,” “admitted sexual predator” and “liar” with a “narcissistic need for attention.”

“The only thing that will stop him from attacking us — because nobody’s safe — is his resignation,” she said.

Hirono joins Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.), Ron Wyden (D-Ore.), Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) in calling for the president’s resignation.

If their outrage was good enough for a consolidated lightening strike on Al, then surely this kind of response should be good enough for Trump. I'll be patient.

I don't know how many or when, but when it hits the fan, (big time) a few will vote against Trump. Trump needs to apologize, for what he has said, but that ain't going to happen. (at least that is what I think, no apology from him)

Trump won't resign, that's a given. But, these senators need to on the record demanding Trump's resignation or they are silently condoning his misogynist behaviour. They did not silently ignore similar accusations against Al Franken. On the record demanding Trump to resign at least shows they are willing to not have a double standard.

I still haven't been able to figure out what crimes Franken allegedly committed that got him a severe punishment. I want to see the testimony, decide for myself how credible the accusations are, for myself. It's my vote the democratic party is stealing.

Al Franken is not a misogynist, like putin's puppet.

And now Minnesota is going to be drowning in GOP/Russian Bullshit. Hackable voting polls, machines, results, propaganda on the internet. My vote probably won't count AGAIN.

"Impeachment or resignation?" needs to be the headline every day until it happens.

When it's 48 or 49 senators calling for resignation, it's easier to reach the tipping point than when there is one or two.

Don't eat paste.

Don't run with scissors.
In fact, ask someone smarter than you if you should even be trusted with scissors.

If you are in an office space and you smell natural gas, get out of the building, it could be about ready to explode.

Don't have an open flame near the gas pump. Gas is flammable, you could get 3rd degree burns.

I feel as though I should keep posting helpful tips to keep you safe, as maybe I shouldn't just assume you know about common sense things. You might hurt yourself, and I don't want to say I didn't try to warn you.

Any "plan" may be going by a certain set of expected "societal rules" that will not be followed by the lunatic in the Oval Office, who has Bannon pulling one set of strings and Putin pulling the other. Those kinds of puppet masters make their own "rules" and have surrounded themselves with zombies who will uphold them.

what is happening now will be long-forgotten by next year. There will need to be major grassroots efforts at the state and local levels and much of that is thankfully in place and/or is being put in place/expanded. The "national" political game-playing only feeds into the "both sides are corrupt" narrative.

I can't figure out what Al Franken allegedly did that is credible, that is sexual assault or sexual harassment. I want to see the accusers testimony. But I guess all we got is accusations. Of what?

He is not guilty, he shouldn't have to give up his seat. Not for Russian/Republican dirty tricks. I am beyond outraged.

There was no plan. This was democrats doing unnecessary harm to themselves.
This whole thing has been ridiculous.

I wish people would learn by now that all this stuff is trivial. Trump is never going to step down voluntarily. For Trump to step down he will have to be forcefully removed and that would require democrats and republicans teaming up together which is highly unlikely.

but over 30% were onboard with Franken resigning....and all were democrats? I guess these spineless bastards need to explain why 5 times as many are willing to challenge Franken-I'm sure it must have something to do with the seriousness of the charges, right? Because if we take only 1/5 call for Trump to resign in spite of twice as many accusers that means the crimes Franken is accused of are demonstrably 10 times worse than those Trump was accused of...WOW-either Franken has hidden perversion that surpasses understanding or the democrats are idiots....I wonder what the truth is???

Sure, the photos looked innocent enough. But you just must believe he groped those women. No matter he says he doesn't remember that.

What further proof do you need.

In this time of women like Kim Davis out there, and the gutter rat republicans, well, just believe every accusation. Case closed. No investigation needed. And mete out a harsh punishment, not one that better fits the offense (that he was never proven guilty of) on Al. And the rest of us who were counting on him.

Now: Seat in play along with voter suppression, russian meddling, and republican dirty tricks.

Scary thought: and the democratic senators that remain in the senate seem like they're dumber than a box of rocks. That's our salvation. Surely, with their brain power, they will come up with a winning strategy to keep this seat safe for our side. Jesus wept.

Tell the office how outraged I am about the railroading of my senator by a bunch of nitwits in the senate.

Sen. Hirono: You know not to eat paste, right? I mean, after the bumbling I saw with Franken, I gotta question if you know, actually, to cross a busy street on a green light with the walk signal on, right? If there's a fire alarm going off in a building, get out. It means the building is on fire. Save yourself from burning up or dying from smoke inhalation.

FU very much for stealing my voice and and my vote.
