California Gov. Jerry Brown is urging President Donald Trump to start fighting climate change or to "get out of the way" and let the rest of the world work on reducing emissions and investing in clean energy.
Speaking with The Associated Press at a global climate summit Tuesday in Paris, Brown said "the rest of the world is very serious about climate change. So are the scientists."
He argued against Trump's plans to resurrect coal mining, saying "it's time for President Trump to join the rest of the world, not oppose it" on climate change.
Brown cited recent violent wildfires in California as an example of extreme weather worsened by human-made climate change. He says "the fires are burning in California. They'll be burning in France, burning all around the world" if countries don't reduce their emissions.

The Make Our Planet Great Again grants a nod to Trumps Make America Great Again campaign slogan are part of Macrons efforts to counter Trump on the climate change front. Macron announced a contest for the projects in June, hours after Trump declared he would withdraw the US from the Paris climate accord.

California Gov. Jerry Brown (D) isn't ruling out out running for president in 2020.
Brown opened up about his possible future in elected office during a Thursday press conference about his plan to fix Californias infrastructure, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
I dont think Im running for office, said Brown, whose term is up in 2018. I only have lieutenant governor, treasurer and controller left.
When someone in the crowd yelled president, Brown responded, But Id be 82 then," then paused before saying, "Dont rule it out.
Brown is the longest serving governor of California, holding office from 1975 to 1983 and then again from 2011 to present.
Brown long ago pursued presidential politics, running for the Democratic nomination in the 1976, 1980 and 1992 elections.
Brown criticized President Trump during his State of the State speech earlier this year, targeting Trumps immigration policies and defending climate science.
