U.S. Rep. Blake Farenthold says he's going to pay back the money taxpayers spent settling a lawsuit filed against his office by a former employee.
The four-term Congressmen tells 6 Investigates he was not given a choice in whether to spend his own money, or the taxpayers', when handling the suit in which former employee Lauren Greene alleged the Congressman, and key staff members, created a hostile work environment and then, retaliated against her when she complained.
The Greene lawsuit paralleled an investigation by the bi-partisan House Ethics Committee, which unanimously cleared Farenthold of any wrongdoing.
"I wish I could have said something Friday ... I went to the House lawyer and said, 'What can I say?, and they said 'Nothing ... Here's the statement that you can make.'"

Congressman & Blow-Me.org Owner Blake Farenthold Sued For Sexual Harassment
By Joe Deshotel on DECEMBER 17, 2014
Its hard to compete for Congressional class clown when you are up against the antics of Louie Gohmert on the regular, but alas Rep. Blake Farenthold has managed to dethrone old Louie.
Earlier this week we reported that Congressman Farenthold was the proud owner of blow-me.org. His office didnt have much of a response other than to say he wasnt planning on renewing the domain name. It could be that they have come to terms with the fact that he is going to do something embarrassing periodically, or it could be because the person who would normally be charged with coming up with excuses to the media for the Congressman is sueing him.
Yes, the now former Communications Director for Farentholds Congressional office Lauren Greene is alleging gender discrimination and a hostile work environment and is seeking a trial by jury. Farentholds spokesman Kurt Bardella issued a statement saying that the Congressman and his staff dispute her claims.
