Aaron Sorkin: Trump is 'a really dumb guy with an observable psychiatric disorder'

Source: The Hill

Hollywood director Aaron Sorkin slammed President Trump as "a really dumb guy with an observable psychiatric disorder" in an interview published this week.

Sorkin, who regularly criticizes Trump, told the Hollywood Reporter that he has no interest in casting a Trump-like figure in a reboot of his acclaimed political drama "The West Wing."

Sorkin is reportedly considering a standing offer from NBC for a return of the early 2000's show that features a fictional White House and Democratic president.

The director said he would prefer African-American actor Sterling K. Brown to play the president in a return of the show. The president would be facing "some kind of jam, an emergency, a very delicate situation involving the threat of war or something," Sorkin said, suggesting a leader with a closer resemblance to former President Obama in the hypothetical reboot.

I don't watch HOUSE OF CARDS because it didn't sound dark enough for reality.

Also, the Kevin Spacey character, like several other of his roles, is eerily like real Hollywood suits that I actually dealt with briefly.

Wow. First I've heard this. WW was my favorite show of all time; I was hearbroken when it went off the air.

As for a Trump-like figure, only in a comedy, not the beloved West Wing.

I think the West Wing actors want to do it, but they don'thave the story yet.
Sure hope this gets done, it would be awesome!

Most of the actors are pretty busy. Sterling K Brown is a regular on "This Is Us". Allison Janney has "Mom". Richard Schiff is on "The Good Doctor".

I would not watch a return with a character based on Trump.

I live it everyday.

Why would I want to torture myself further.

I don't mention IT's name, nor watch a minute of his senile blatherings on network TV or the net. His ugly puss(as in face) including anal shaped lips are just too gross for viewing.

Even though trump is mentally disabled and supported/enabled by the entire Republican party. The cast of Aides needed to prop-up trump character would be in the thousands. NBC couldn't afford that cast and Americans already get to watch Republicans ruin America.
