Top brands pull YouTube ads over paedophilia fears
Source: skynews
Campaigners have warned that paedophiles were targeting the video-sharing website.
The content, although legal and mostly uploaded by children themselves, is easily exploited by paedophile networks who are said to post messages and links to one another in the comments section underneath the videos.
The clips are usually of boys and girls performing everyday activities in their homes. But sometimes the children can be seen partially clothed or in their nightwear.
Investigators say paedophiles leave lewd comments or even try and encourage the children posting the videos to take part in private forum discussions. YouTube has been accused of failing to safeguard these children despite repeated warnings.

(22,651 posts)Twitter, facebook and youtube need to go the extra mile and ban those accounts & inform their ISP so they lose their internet access.
The Pedo will have to get a new cellphone ISP-provider, or home computer ISP. And that's not easy because there aren't many internet providers.

(4,533 posts)If I am a Russian spy I dont think it would be smart to chat it up with fellow spies on you tube. Seems sort of risky to me. Wouldnt you worry that your buddy pedophile is an undercover cop?

(14,961 posts)Little girl, maybe 9 years old cleaning her room in pajamas. There was something off about it, like maybe she was completely unaware of the camera. I reported and blocked the video. Also there was no name for the video, it was just a number.

by scornfully pointing out that on a CD of a thousand adult porn images the cops had found, there were barely a dozen child porn images, and all the images were named with numbers.
I thought, "Well, if I was dealing in child porn, that's EXACTLY how I'd do it: bury the images in adult porn, include a coded message with a mathematical formula of how to find them, and blame it on 'the studio' if anyone noticed." Guilty as charged, by the way.

(44,576 posts)if that's not too far out of the standard pedophile age range.
Perhaps each of those accounts could require a designated parent or guardian who would have the uploading privileges. Unless YouTube wants to double check every link that's included in their comments, they'll have to ban them all. And speaking of banning, would that mean no more videos of babies being bathed, or of children opening presents on Christmas morning in their nightclothes or splashing around at the beach? As for the coded messages, well, coded messages of any kind can be included in any comment board.

(22,651 posts)been like that for several years, especially online games-plenty of children 'wilding' online and lots of adult predators 'hunting' marks.
