Democrats seize on tax plan's inequities

Source: The Boston Globe

By Astead W. Herndon GLOBE STAFF NOVEMBER 24, 2017

WASHINGTON — President Trump this week called the Republican tax overhaul plans wending through Congress America’s “big, beautiful Christmas present,” but critics say the bills, especially the newly released Senate version, give many middle-class taxpayers a mere lump of coal.

The Senate version gives additional firepower to the Democrats’ messaging war that contends Trump has betrayed the white, working-class voters who launched him into the White House. He had promised to improve the lot of average Americans — including a pledge of a middle-class tax cut.

Though analysts say both the House and Senate versions would immediately cut taxes across the board for all income groups, only the tax cut to 20 percent from 35 percent for corporations is permanent in the Senate’s version of the bill. This, for taxpayers, would mean that after the temporary personal cuts expired in 2025, taxes for those in lower income brackets would actually increase, according to the nonpartisan Joint Committee on Taxation and the Tax Policy Center.

“Compared to current law, 9 percent of taxpayers would pay more in 2019, 12 percent in 2025, and 50 percent in 2027,’’ according to a separate study, by the nonprofit, nonpartisan Tax Policy Center, a Washington analysis group.

the proverbial bag, on infrastructure, military, parks, FDA, education deduction eliminated, medical deduction eliminated, home interest deduction eliminated, cutting / gutting Medicare and Social Security, CHiP, libraries, stagnant wages for the last forty plus years, etc...................with those of us of the 80% picking up the slack needed to fund those programs that keeps this system running, it sure as hell isn't the 80% of those not getting a tax break, just fucking smoke and mirrors----------------this is just total BS, while a fucking lobbyists sits in a congressional office across the street from the office a senator or congressional person writing a fucking check , that says fuck the taxpayers again 2018 on the memo section.

Then you have a fucking senator from Alaska, by the name of MURKOWSKI, that thinks that 13 million people getting thrown off health care coverage (should just eat shit and die), because what is important is a tax cut and getting that important tax cut to a fucking oil companies that will drill in the tundra, and eventually pollute the surrounding area, where-by the other of us 80% peon's will have to cover that cost, just like the public is still paying for the BP Horizon BS.

The biggest hit will be to all the programs we've paid into and come to depend upon, such as Medicare, Medicaid, Social Security, roads, bridges, the State Department, Department of Education, EPA, etc. Those will all be ruthlessly destroyed under cover of fixing the massive deficits caused by Trump's Middle Class Tax Hike.
