GOP hopes Trump will save Alabama Senate seat

Source: The Hill

BY ALEXANDER BOLTON - 11/15/17 06:00 AM EST

Republicans are looking for President Trump to get them out of a jam and convince Roy Moore to drop out of the Senate race in Alabama.

So far, their calls for Moore to step aside over allegations of sexual misconduct have fallen on deaf ears.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) said Tuesday that he has talked with the president about Moore, and that the conversations would continue once Trump returns to Washington on Wednesday.

It’s not clear whether Trump will pressure Moore to drop out, or if he has any interest in getting involved in a fight that pits McConnell against his former White House chief strategist, Stephen Bannon.

And this has nothing to do with Moore. GOPers could care less of about a child molester. It's about keeping Bannon neutralized.

McConnell has asked that folks in Alabama write in Jeff Sessions. If he wins, he gives up the AG office, drumpf put in someone totally unqualified but who swears personal loyalty and protection for orange assface. New guy then fires Mueller because of Uranium One lies and the investigation ends with a russian puppet in office for next 8 years with russia free to hack the elections for repugs who remove sanctions, and pull back from NSTO and let Russia attack Ukraine and other previous satellite countries with impunity.

This is an existential threat!

Sessions can't fire him. New AG could fire him and that's exactly what McConnell wants.

And Sessions isn’t winning a write in vote. There is no sign Moore is dropping out and if he is on the ballot the repub vote would be split by a write in campaign and Jones wins. And the senate won’t expel Moore if he wins the special election because if that happens Moore will run as an independent in the special election to replace him and split the repub vote again giving the seat to the Democrats.

What if drumf spreads lots & lots of $$ to Moore and says he will stand by Moore in public and exonerate him in the media if Moore steps aside n favor of Sessions? Any new AG would fire Mueller because drumpf would make that a condition for hiring. Tell me you can't see that happening.

Moore selling out for money is a non-starter. And a replacement for Sessions isn't going to get confirmed unless there is a commitment that he follow Session's lead and recuse himself, leaving Rosenstein in charge.

Put another way: If Trump is willing to live with the fallout of firing Mueller, why not direct Rosenstein to do it and if he won't fire him and replace him with someone who will?

As a condition of getting confirmed. The republicans in the senate know that firing mueller before the2018 elections will sit very badly with voters.

Admit what you are, ask Roy to do the same, and you can both resign!
