Steve Bannon And Allies Have Second Thoughts About Roy Moore, Sources Say

Source: The Daily Beast

Donald Trump’s former chief strategist Steve Bannon is keeping the door open to ditching Roy Moore as the sexual-assault allegations against the Alabama Republican Senate candidate continue to pile up.

...snip...

But over the past few days, Bannon has begun privately taking the temperature of those in his inner circle to see what they think of the Moore allegations and to get their sense of how to proceed, according to four knowledgeable sources. Late last week, the Breitbart chairman said, “I will put him in a grave myself,” if he determines that Moore was lying to him about the numerous accusations, a source close to Bannon relayed.

Bannon emphasized, to both friends and colleagues, that he’s uncomfortable with the charges of sexual harassment and child molestation that have been levelled at Moore. But he wasn’t convinced that the initial flood of on-record testimony, starting with the first Washington Post story last week, was anything more than a hit job. And he believes it may have been planted by #NeverTrump operatives to put the screws to Moore’s campaign.

Several of Bannon’s most trusted allies have already told him that it would be “insane,” as one put it, to believe at this point that the Moore accusations are baseless. They have also warned that the time is rapidly approaching when he would have to disavow Moore before it appeared as though he was simply caving to political pressure. (Critics of Bannon, of course, argue he should never have backed Moore in the first place.)

Hahahahahahahaha!

Genius Bannon picking Roy Moore to back for the Senate should be all we need to know that it was Putin/Assange/vote suppression and Comey's letter why trump is in office instead of anything that trump himself, Bannon, Conway, stupid Jr. and all the rest of his campaign staff did.

i.e. about expelling Moore from the Senate if he should end up "winning" the election, legitimately or otherwise.

This is looking worse and worse for them, but remember, ALL politics is local, and if the people of Alabama are willing to embarrass themselves by electing this son of a stunted turnip, then the rest of the Republican Senators, many of whom are up for re-election next year, will not want their brand tainted in this manner, at this time.

He doesn't want his name attached to a loser. He'll wait to see what the polls say, and then dump him at the last minute if it looks like Moore will lose.

Because defending bathrooms is more important than defending children against child molesters:

He would have to be accused of a lot worse than I have heard so far for me to believe the seat would be better in the hands of the partial birth abortion democrat who wants to let men who think they are women into the girls bathrooms.
At this point I don't care if he did what they accused him of. They waited 40 years, so obviously they didn't feel all that strongly about it. (and that's if we believe them, which I don't.)

For the good of the Republic, the Democrat must be defeated. He is a Hillary clone, and an utter horror.

Even if you are an Army Chaplain who supposed believes in moral law:

Ehat you say is true, but that is different than winning or losing an election. The potus cannot afford a 52-48 senate, so a 51-49 would be terrible. McCain would rule the senate.

The repubs just turned a red state over to a marx-o-crat senatewhore. The stalinists can put up a corpse like lautenberg and win a senate seat. The ‘pubs mince and wet their panties when asked to fight bck.
