Republican Sens. Mike Lee and Steve Daines rescind their endorsements of Roy Moore

Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Sen. Steve Daines (R-MT) rescinded their endorsements of Alabamas GOP Senate candidate Roy Moore on Friday evening in light of allegations that the latter had inappropriate relationships with teen girls while in his 30s.
Having read the detailed description of the incidents, as well as the response from Judge Moore and his campaign, Lee said in a statement, I can no longer endorse his candidacy for the US Senate.
On Twitter, Daines wrote, I am pulling my endorsement and support for Roy Moore for U.S. Senate.....................

5 Republican senators endorsed Roy Moore before the WaPo report: Paul, Cruz, Lee, Cornyn and Daines.
In the last 15 minutes, 2 (Lee and Daines) have withdrawn their support.

(11,257 posts)We're getting close to the point when a "normal" candidate (regardless of party) would drop out. If Moore refuses, it's going to get very ugly, very soon.

(11,519 posts)His ego is far too big to let him, he'll ride this out to the bitter end. Either way he'll claim the allegations against him are false and are the result of political dirty tricks.
A couple of months ago his son was arrested for illegally hunting on private property and hunting over bait. This was the younger Moore's NINTH run-in with the law, and of course Crazy Roy claimed it was all a political ploy.
