Trump: Bergdahl sentencing decision 'a disgrace'

Source: The Hill

President Trump on Friday decried a judge's decision not to give jail time to Sgt. Bowe Bergdal as "a complete and total disgrace."

"The decision on Sergeant Bergdahl is and to our Military isa complete and total disgrace to our Country," the president tweeted.

Trump weighed in while flying on Air Force One to Asia.

for saying that. Said if any military person of any rank had said such a thing they would be immediately fired from the service. Said the judge’s decision was a good decision.

The General was visibly and vocally pissed at tRump’s idiotic words.

The author of both articles below is Phillip N. Butler, US Naval Academy grad 1961, attack pilot and POW in Vietnam from April 1965 to February 1973.

He felt Bergdahl should NEVER have been court-martialed in the first place.

OUR BOYS AND GIRLS should not be shot and holed up in a prison....Most of them are about 18 or 19 when they go
in.

I just don't understand the military...and I have a twin brother and twins (man and a woman) that went
during desert storm....

The girl was in 6 years, she married a man who gave who retired 28 years later, and their all doing fine.

But it made me an upset mother when all this happened.....Thank God, I found me a good man back in 1985
(he made my left complete until his death in 2007).

Dotar wants to do everything that tries to mess with good people.

It happens to many who spend extended time in combat. It happened to me. It wasn't anything I expected. Luckily an NCO saw me and the next day I was on a helicopter to a base camp. I know other combat veterans who had a similar experience. Combat can and will compromise your ability to reason.
The demand for execution by that jackass Trump is an insult to all combat veterans. That chickenshit asshole used his money to buy a fake doctor's report that exempted him from service. The strutting swaggering bully with the persona of a professional wrestler gets no latitude when it comes to criticizing combat veterans.
We had ways of dealing with loud mouth punks. The passive way to get rid of them was to hand them a radio, map, compass and binoculars, and assign them as forward observers.
The active way of getting rid of them was quicker, but details aren't necessary.

Those on the right who are condemning this decision would do well to remember some of the accusations of a one-time P.O.W. in North Vietnam for 6 years.
Until you've been a "guest" at something like the Hanoi Hilton, your criticisms of Bergdal's situation are invalid.

He was released on May 31, 2014, as part of a prisoner exchange for five Taliban members who were being held at the detention center at Guantanamo Bay. This exchange and the ceremony announcing it, held in the White House Rose Garden, generated controversy in the United States.
