Grassley: Clovis' Testimony Could Be Delayed After Papadopoulos Emails

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published NOVEMBER 1, 2017 3:46 PM

Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA), chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, on Wednesday said scheduled testimony by Sam Clovis, President Donald Trump’s pick to serve as the U.S. Agriculture Department’s chief scientist, could be pushed back.

Yahoo News reported Monday that Clovis, Trump’s former campaign co-chair, was one of the campaign officials corresponding with Trump’s former campaign adviser George Papadopoulos, who Clovis supervised during the campaign.

On a call with Iowa reporters, Grassley said that Clovis’ testimony before the Senate Agriculture Committee—scheduled for Nov. 9—could be pushed back, according to a report by the Des Moines Register.

Grassley, who also serves on that Senate panel, said that he is nevertheless still backing Clovis’ nomination.

7. His nomination will be withdrawn. This is a delay tactic to dilute where this is heading

There is maybe a 1% chance that the KGOP is dumb enough to let Clovis field questions from democrats publicly.

But we can hope people like Grassley aren't too shape and let the hearings go forward. It would be messy.

I want him to be grilled, not by Grassley, (he is worthless), because, he, and old Graham and others have been trying to deflect the Russian actions as being a bunch of BS.

I want a democrats to questions this operative of the Russian state, this campaign lackey of the hedonist malignant orange tint, sitting in the white house, and this Clovis jerk, to feel the full wrath of the US, government of the People and by the People.

I want him to testify, so that Mueller can then charge him for conspiracy against the US, ( you know Treason) since he has already gone before a Grand Jury.

I want him to plead the fifth amendment right there during a confirmation hearing to expose him for what he is.

I want him to squirm and sweat and watch all of the republicans squirm and sweat, when they went to the convention to aid and abet with the Russians on sanctions, and "approve" there platform on the Ukraine......................just like Sessions did, when he spoke to a foreign agent from Russia, not once but three times and didn't tell anyone.

And like old Wilbur Ross being the head of a bank out of Cyprus, that was and is connected to the Russians, lets bring him back in for questioning there, Chuck

So, Grassley, do your job, bring in this tainted nominee and question him, and then have a f*cking vote.......and see you and your republican lackeys squirm, show the american public that what your made of-------------------nothing, but trying too protect your traitorous president

withdrawn given Clovis was interrogated by Team Muller last week. Glad he won't make as he is another unqualified cretin. Clovis has degree in economics, and last time I checked, econ skills are not a qualification to be a Chief Scientist.
