GOP winds down Russia probes with Trump collusion unanswered

Source: Politico

Democrats are likely to be divided over whether to endorse conclusions that don’t address the most explosive issue.

Republican lawmakers say they’re approaching the end of their investigations into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election even though the most politically explosive issue — whether associates of President Donald Trump colluded with the Kremlin — remains unresolved.

That will present Democrats who have spent a year amplifying suspicions about Trump’s own ties to Russia with a wrenching choice: to join Republicans and set aside the most momentous aspect of their probes — or to break from the GOP and end any chance of presenting a united front against a continuing Russian threat.

Senate Intelligence Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) has suggested his panel’s investigation will end early next year, emphasizing that he wants to wrap up by February, ahead of the first 2018 primary elections.

His panel still has a long list of witnesses to interview, but Burr described the timeline as a "mathematical equation," one pitting the ability of the committee to schedule meetings against the calendar. And he’s hinted it’s possible the report will find no evidence of collusion between Trump allies and Moscow.

5. When your mission is to find nothing, you can announce your conclusion before you are finished.

For the GOP,

When investigated Democrats, the mission is to find something, anything - time and costs are not a concern and you leak hopes and dreams of finding something.

When investigating Republicans, the mission is to find nothing - time and costs are a huge return and you can leak nothing as soon as it is is convenient.

Did anyone even for one second believe this was anything but the GOP trying to make it look like they care?
What does the GOP think they are going to look in 50 years from now? The blackest mark in US history.

There are no good Repugs, period. There's 2 kinds, full on traitors to the country and fluffers for the rich and rich fluffers who may not agree with selling our country out to Russia. There are no Repugs who don't side with rich corporations, like banks, when push comes to shove, none!

Go it alone if you have to and let the American people see and hear the facts. NOT A POLITICAL WHITE WASH.

And of course they don't want this hanging over their heads for the 2018 elections.
Just remember DEMS that they kept dragging out Benghazi until the last moment.

And one final note. the DEMS have to convince voters like me that they are fighting to win. Otherwise I will ask myself is it really worth my time (going to the polls) and money (political donations) if the DEMS are giving up. And plan to play nice. The go along to get along bulls**t.

Don't bother warning me that that would be stupid. I have not missed an election in 52 years. But as a Wisconsin resident. I deserve to know if my vote counts or has it and will it count. Or will the Russian/WIGOP generate another magical 23,000 (Trump 2016 margin) votes in Wisconsin in the 2018 and 2020 elections.

If GOTV programs gets 100,000 new voters to the polls great..... BUT if the Russians and the Wisconsin GOP manipulate the results. What is the point. 100,000+2% (Russian/WIGOP 'votes') still wins. 1,000,000+2% (Russian/WIGOP 'votes') still wins. 10,000,000 new national voters + 2%.... well you get the point.
