As Trump slams media, an Indiana lawmaker has drafted a bill to license journalists

An Indiana lawmaker has drafted a bill that would require professional journalists to be licensed by state police.

Rep. Jim Lucas had the measure drawn up earlier this year and said he may file it to drive home a point about his signature issue — gun rights.

“If you’re okay licensing my second amendment right, what’s wrong with licensing your first amendment right?” he said. The proposal comes as President Donald Trump continues to feud with national news outlets such as CNN and NBC.

His proposal would require professional journalists to submit an application to the Indiana State Police. Journalists would be fingerprinted as part of the process and would have to pay a $75 fee for a lifetime license. Those with felony or domestic battery convictions would be prohibited from getting a license.

Sec. 1. As used in this chapter, "professional journalism" means
the activity of:
(1) writing news for a newspaper, magazine, or news web site;
(2) preparing or writing news to be broadcast on television,
radio, or the Internet; or
(3) broadcasting news on television, radio, or the Internet that
has been prepared under subdivision (2);
for compensation.

That would cover Great-aunt Matilda who writes daily Facebook posts about what her cat Jasper did. Sorry Aunt Maddy, you have a right to remain silent...

I doubt he could pass a 5th grade history exam. Why do dumb shits like Lucas think (or don't think) they have a right to make stupid shit like that up? Apparently he doesn't know the difference between the Constitutional Amendments, or doesn't know what the Constitutional Amendments are.

I guess this dork lives in a Republican district, otherwise he'd never be in politics at all, but jeepers......how stupid are they in this mook's Indiana district? It must be extremely red for a numb-nut like him to be elected.

As in, "Make America русский Again"

"русский" is "Russia" in Russian alphabet.

Texas is a very close second, however, with Kentucky and Missouri not too far behind.

I realize a lot of these clowns are not exactly Einsteins, but they amaze me on a regular basis. SMDH.
