Trump is not going to get blamed for this, Republican strategist Ford OConnell said. The problems with ObamaCare need to be fixed, and it needs to be done by Congress.
Late last month, in the latest sign of the Trumps distaste of the law, Department of Health and Human Services officials said funding for advertising and other outreach for ObamaCare enrollment would be cut from $100 million last year to $10 million this year.
Most of America is in healthcare.gov and its mostly all red states, and folks in those states are at risk of losing their opportunity, or not getting their opportunity to sign up for health care, said Karen Pollitz, a Kaiser Family Foundation senior fellow.

(51,473 posts)get a prescription from a clinic in Louisiana filled in Arkansas. They had gotten it transferred and filled, but when she presented her insurance card it was denied. I heard her say she had gotten the insurance through Obamacare in 2016 before moving. She left without the medicine. I wondered if she knew she had to renew her coverage for 2017 and if she had to qualify in Arkansas. We have extended Mericaid, but don't know residency requirements.
People need navigators and someplace to call.

(32,748 posts)People need their medicine so they come to Walgreen's (or Rite-Aid or another pharmacy.)
They get turned away and Walgreen loses the sale, but it's not their fault. Somebody at Walgreen should take the time to explain to the customer about filling out the forms or updating them. Maybe they could even go online at Walgreen to do it. A LOT of older people have no internet access, and can't receive emails etc. How would they know about updating their account status?
It could be a built-in feature of the ACA program that the retailers help people with this stuff. More people would shop at Walgreen's if they did that, for sure.
Just sayin'

(23,155 posts)They want to pretend everyone totally hates Obamacare and that's just another of their lies. Trump and Repugs in Congress will absolutely be blamed when people lose their healthcare or have to pay tons more. Repugs are trying to be sneaky and not have this in effect at mid-terms so the Drumpf ignoramuses don't realize what's been done to them and will still vote for them.
