Ryan says tax reform outline reflects consensus of lawmakers, administration

Source: Reuters

SEPTEMBER 13, 2017 / 10:54 AM / UPDATED 11 MINUTES AGO

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan said on Wednesday he was confident President Donald Trump would push for conservative tax reform and that an outline of a plan to be presented next week reflects consensus between tax writers in Congress and the Trump administration.

“On the week of Sept 25, there’s going to be an outline that is released which reflects the consensus of the tax-writing committees - Ways and Means and Finance - and the administration,” Ryan said at a news conference. “Then the tax writing committees are going to take feedback and input and then they’re going to go produce their bills in the weeks ahead. And so this is the beginning of the process.”

Asked if he was confident Trump would push for conservative reform, given his cooperation with Democrats last week on the debt ceiling, Ryan said, “Yes.”

Didn't Trump say something a while ago about tax reform being further along than people think? I guess Ryan is not one of those people.

Can we once and for all stop using the phrase "tax REFORM"????

We all know what it is...MASSIVE TAX CUTS for the 1%!!!

The initial review of the Pumpkin Headed Imbecile (tm) tax CUT FOR BILLIONAIRES was 99.6% went to the top 1%. The rest of us....and America get 0.04% of the crumbs left over. I call BULLSHIT.

The Pumpkin Headed Imbecile (tm) said during the primaries ( when he was duping the rubes..) that he would RAISE taxes on the rich....he said (and I quote) "IT WILL COST ME A BUNDLE!!"

Of course, most of us knew that to be just another lie from the pathological idiot....but the rubes bought it being too stupid to know when they're being scammed.

And while we're on the subject of phrasing, packaging, whatever you want to call it....When and where did "GLOBAL WARMING" become "Climate Change"???? We progressives need to out Luntz the media and the stooges on the right. Call a spade a spade...it's GLOBAL WARMING folks.....and we need to hammer the point home INCESSANTLY.

"Tax cuts for Billionaires". "Tax RAPE of the Middle Class" ..."GLOBAL HEATING"..

reform my ass..

You did fine until you started talking about climate change
Only corrupt republicans call it global warming
Someone lives in a place that is getting colder..........not much global warming there
climate change covers everything

The climates are changing
the globe is getting warmer

what I am saying is that republicans use the term global warming to discredit climate change
I have heard them do it and then had their followers agree with them
If climate change is used then they are less likely to be able to turn people
