Congressman Admits to Extramarital Affair

Source: Political Wire

Rep. Tim Murphy (R-PA) publicly admitted to having an extramarital affair with “a personal friend,” issuing a statement about the relationship after the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette prevailed in a court motion to unseal a divorce action.

Said Murphy: “Last year I became involved in an affair with a personal friend. This is nobody’s fault but my own, and I offer no excuses. To the extent that there should be any blame in this matter, it falls solely upon me.”

No crocodile tears. No "please pray for me during this difficult time, and respect my privacy." No "I'm sorry IF anyone was offended."

I have to know, though: was this guy a "family values" crusader?

From: http://triblive.com/local/allegheny/12705778-74/congressman-murphy-admits-to-affair

"Murphy is in his eighth term representing a congressional district that includes parts of Allegheny, Westmoreland, Washington and Greene counties. He chairs the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations and serves on three other subcommittees. In 2015, the Washington, D.C.-based Family Research Council presented Murphy with its “True Blue” award for having a congressional voting record that it said supported family values, religious freedom, human life and individual liberty."

these scumbags are the first to scream and moan about morality whenever a gay couple wants to get married or god forbid, buy a wedding cake.

I hate them with everything I can muster. If I was in his district I'd be sure to bring this up everytime he decided to have an event.

he's a "devout" Catholic who attends every dinner/event that the Catholic church has. He loves hanging out with clergy. Timmy has a reputation for being "NICE" and so efficient if anyone has a problem.

Finally, there is a chink in the armor. Granted, his personal life is his own, but when he lies about the groups that gather outside his office to protest, then it's pretty clear, he's a lying adulterous jerk.

He has supported Trump 100% and now we can see why, they're peas in a pod.

Maybe, just maybe, there's enough to keep him from being re-elected. Not the affair, but the lies. Not the affair, but the pretense of being such a good holy Christian. Not the affair, but the sleaze factor of breaking up a marriage with a woman half his age.

Tim Murphy is NOT a nice guy. And finally, he proves that himself.

The progressive lobbying group called Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) released its third annual report on the most corrupt members of Congress titled "Beyond DeLay: The 22 Most Corrupt Members of Congress (and two to watch)". Murphy was included on the list. CREW issued their analysis of Murphy's alleged ethical lapses.

I like the implicit message of hey, let's be honest here, nothing wrong with stepping out on your wife. Republicans are endlessly entertaining.

I don't know. That just sounds odd. I mean, who else would he/she be? An enemy? A passing acquaintance? A complete stranger? A relative?
