Do you remember that? He was misty eyed on live TV. The emotion of the moment was unforgettable. Cronkite was a journalist who cut his chops during WW II, but he couldn't hold it back when Armstrong put a foot on the moon.
Non-plussed is accurate.

An unforgettable moment.

All they needed was the champagne. It's great to see people who are so thrilled who are doing something positive in the world.

I'm still flabbergasted that they can hit the planet, let alone get a very delicate instrument package down there.

The MRO was 340km above the rover at the time.

One cool thing: the name Curiosity came from a grammar school kids' contest 4 years ago. The now 15 year old girl who suggested the name was at JPL last night; they had her take a bow during the press conference.
