Romney attacks Obama in Indiana

Source: AP/BOSTON.COM

By STEVE PEOPLES

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) — Mitt Romney attacked what he calls ‘‘an extraordinary series of policy failures’’ from President Barack Obama, but said Saturday that America is ‘‘poised to take off economically.’’

The Republican presidential contender briefly met with Indiana voters, seizing on the latest jobs report as evidence that his Democratic opponent’s economic policies aren’t working.

The Labor Department reported Friday that the American economy added 163,000 jobs in July, the best pace of hiring in five months. The jobless rate ticked up to 8.3 percent from 8.2 in June.

‘‘These are real families having real hard times,’’ Romney told dozens of supporters gathered in Stepto’s BBQ Shack in Evansville. ‘‘This has been an extraordinary series of policy failures on behalf of the president.’’

If the fucking refugLIEcons would stop playing their obstructionist
games and start passing legislation like Obama's JOB'S BILL,
the economy would be in much better shape. And how about letting
all of those empty cabinet positions (like the director of the ATF)
be filled by Obamas appointments rather than continuing to enforce
their blanket holds on EVERYONE.

Terrorism, repubLIEcon be thy name !

Why is this issue never addressed publicly? It's a bad combination of W's mess, an obstructionist Republican congress and greedy corporations that are responsible for the fact that so many people are out of work. When the hell is someone on the Obama re-election team going to pick up on this? It's the one thing that's hurting him the most. Even though it's a lie.

Or did he turn up his nose at that, too?

I don't see a huge crowd there. What's with the barriers and scary looking men surrounding rmoney? Is he afraid of the commoners? Nobody looks happy, or excited, to be there.

With President Obama, we usually see him surrounded by large crowds of happy people.

In Indiana, a State that is supposed to be safe Romney. Could Indiana be coming back into play?

And what a crock that Republicans hold hostage in Congress the economic policies Romney says aren't working. They can't work unless they make it to the President's desk for signature.

EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Mitt Romney stumped for tea party Senate candidate Richard Mourdock here on Saturday, arguing that as president he will need such supporters in Washington to help him enact policies to restore fiscal order.

“You know, we've got to get this guy elected in the U.S. Senate, you know that. He has proven as the treasurer that he knows how to he makes sure to balance books. He’s also proven as a campaigner that he can take his message to the people of Indiana, they’ll support him. This is a man that I want to see in Washington to make sure that we cannot just talk about changing things but actually have the votes to get things change,” Romney told about 100 supporters gathered in Stepto’s Bar-B-Q Shack. “Will you help me elect this guy as the next U.S. senator?”

The nation’s capital needs people such as Mourdock who understand that the nation cannot continue deficit spending, Romney said.

“You can’t keep spending massively more than you take in without putting America in peril. And so a treasurer knows that, a governor knows that. It seems that everybody in America knows that in their households, businesses know it, families know it. There’s only one place in America that doesn’t seem to understand that you can’t keep spending massively more than you take in every year, and that’s Washington,” Romney said. “And one reason we’re both going there is to change Washington and to make sure that we finally get ourselves on track to a balanced budget.”

that only had the GOP Senator up by 2 points here. And the poll was done by Rasumssen. I am hoping this is a further sign that Indiana is not as red as it use to be.

4. A question for Romney
Sat Aug 4, 2012, 07:11 PM
Aug 2012

I think someone should ask him how many people that are unemployed are so because of things his company, Bain, did since they started buying and selling companies for profits with no regard to the employes? How many jobs did Romeny and Bain put and end to over the years when they outsourced them overseas?

As the presidents ads say, Romney is not the answer he is the PROBLEM! How can we create jobs when people like him, multi millionaires and billionaires, continue to shut down companies here and send them to places that have "slave labor" wages in order to increase their millions and billions?

It won't. It's the same bullshit voodoo economics. It doesn't fucking work. It didn't work under Bush, and it won't work under Romney.. well, except for the people making over a million a year.

I think we have to have peaceful protests at the GOP convention. We need protests inside and outside the arena during the big speeches, otherwise the lies will go unchecked.
