Rick Santorum hands GOP plan for backdoor repeal of Obamacare by stealing money from large Dem state
Source: Rawstory
Former Pennsylvania senator and Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum revealed this week that he has been working on a plan to effectively repeal Obamacare by stripping money from four Democratic states.
In an interview with Breitbart, Santorum said that he had been collaborating with Republican lawmakers to craft legislation that would block grant health care funds directly to the states, creating winners in red states and losers in blue states.
In short, this is the last chance for a healthcare bill to pass, and this is the best idea thats been floated yet, Santorum opined. Winston Churchill said that America does the right thing after they have tried everything first.
According to Breitbart, Santorum has partnered with establishment Republicans like Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) and Bill Cassidy (R-LA). He has also made inroads with more conservative lawmakers in the House and GOP governors throughout the country, the former senator said.

That Santorum sure is slippery.

(7,901 posts)Their underlying assumption is that NO ONE should have health care unless they personally pay the medical industry thieves for it. If you ask them why essential medicines and access to care are so much more expensive HERE than any other country they tell you to stop malingering and pay up.

His 15 minutes are so over, he'll never be re-elected in PA.

I agree, Santorum is the worst. He's originally from Butler PA, about 30 miles north of Pittsburgh. He's been messing up our state for far too long. I hope he stays in Virginia for good.

(4,667 posts)I know Santorum loves red states. So could someone please remind him what states are "welfare" states and what states are "donor" states when it comes to federal funding?

(11,175 posts)Why are North Dakota (#50) and South Dakota (#4) so far apart? I always thought they were very similar. In fact, I would have guessed them to be the two states that were the most alike on a wide variety of metrics.
Does anyone have a guess about what explains the disparity here?

(32,641 posts)For example I think West Virginia should be up closer to number 1 now. (Maybe in the top 10 anyway).
The difference between North and South Dakota is puzzling.
But I see the point, that the states lower down the list are paying taxes to the government, while the states higher on the list are taking welfare from the government. (This is unrelated to Obamacare trending because these numbers are from 2013.) And that is ably demonstrated here.
Santorum is completely full of shit, but we already knew that.

(27,816 posts)It's entirely possible that the GOP-controlled House may go along with this truly evil plan - they hate Obamacare.
But can The Turtle get enough votes in the Senate for this piece of shit proposal?

(1,570 posts)of the cost, they want to take away money from blue states to "balance the funding?" The only reason four states with 21% of the population gets 40% of the funding is because those 19 states refuse to accept the money allocates to them.
