Laurel Baker, executive director of the Palm Beach Chamber of Commerce, minced no words Thursday about whether charities should continue to hold their events at Mar-a-Lago this season following President Donald Trumps statements about the recent violence in Charlottesville, Va.
If you have a conscience, youre really condoning bad behavior by continuing to be there, Baker said. Many say its the dollars (raised at the events) that count. Yes. But the integrity of any or organization rests on their sound decisions and stewardship.
She added: Personally, I do not feel that supporting him, directly or indirectly, speaks well of any organization.
Bakers comments are the strongest yet from Palm Beach Countys business community in the wake of Trumps conflicting and, too many, polarizing statements made in the aftermath of the weekend violence.........................

(30,253 posts)There are plenty of other venues, there's no need to hold charity events at Mar-a-Lago.

(19,204 posts)Why, it's the sound of the Trump "brand" circling the toilet bowl on it's way to the sewer.
Trump's "loyal supporters" can't afford to buy ANYTHING "Trump", unless Trump starts selling cheap beer and beef jerky.
Ivanka's crap? Unless it filters it's way into the bargain bins at Goodwill, she's NOT going to make enough to live in the style to which she's been accustomed, while Hubby and Daddy serve their prison sentences. What WILL she do? She's never had to depend on the kindness of strangers, and the Trump name is quickly becoming toxic. Bye bye, wealthy friends and acquaintances.
Trump. The name is going to be just about as popular as................HITLER, or............MANSON!
Trump will never hurt for money, but his "empire" is going to become a thing of the past. And what's going to happen when all of those Russian loan payments come due?
The plot thickens.

(22,171 posts)Now that everyone can see tRUMP's pathetic character on national TV (besides all of the other times), continue to boycott everything tRUMP, properties, fashion ware, anything w/ tRUMP's name on it (or a pseudo name tRUMP uses to hide his name on merchandise, etc.).
We already don't consider him our president, never did, never will.
DUMP tRUMP!

Also how about a shout-out to Valerie Plame Wilson and her tweet - The entire Trump reign thus far is like turning over a log and watching maggots and other disgusting bugs crawl out.
Two bright intelligent women - well done!
