President Trump doubled down on his attacks on a leading pharmaceutical company Monday night after its CEO resigned from one of his presidential councils.
Trump blasted Merck for "higher and higher drug prices" after chairman and CEO Kenneth Frazier resigned from the president's American Manufacturing Council, citing the administration's response to violence in Charlottesville, Va.
Trump had specifically named Frazier in a tweet Monday morning, saying he will now have more time to "lower ripoff drug prices."
Trump's criticism of Merck and Frazier is a reversal. Just last month he called Frazier a "business genius" and "one of the great, great leaders of business."...............................

Then I mention that I did that and then I often will say something like:

(4,533 posts)Merck is not a firm accused of being overly greedy. They publish the details of how they determine prices. They take steps to make their drugs affordable in poor countries. And their new drug Keytruda is the first ever approved To treat any kind of cancer. It is working to help those with "incurable" cancers, such as Jimmy Carter. A year earlier and Carter would be dead. Now he no longer needs any treatment. The CEO when a private lawyer at a fancy law firm pro bono got innocent Bo Cochran off death row in Alabama. In summers he took sabbaticals to teach trial advocacy in South Africa. His dad was a janitor and to earn money at Penn State he raised tadpoles and newts which he sold to local businesses. He has almost doubled the stock price of Merck by spending more on research while not cutting costs to meet stock market expectations for short term profits. Trump previously praised him as a business genius. Wall Street agrees.

(2,250 posts)From what I understand, wasn't he pro-Trump? When does the Twitter storm start there? Or will it not? I spent all afternoon sending messages to all the CEOs on that council.
