San Antonio-area Trump supporter threatened Cruz, sources say

Source: San Antonio Express-News

By Guillermo Contreras Updated 11:28 am, Thursday, July 20, 2017

A death threat left on the voicemail of U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz has led to the arrest of a Live Oak man.

The official allegedly targeted by James Amos Headley, 59, is not identified in court records, other than by the initials T.C., and prosecutors and the FBI won’t name him. The Express-News confirmed it is Cruz through other sources.

“Pretty soon you’re gonna be runnin for your life, just hope your family is not with ya because I'm not gonna insult them, I'm gonna kill them, right after I shoot you right in front of them...” court documents quote Headley as saying in a July 11 voicemail left at the official’s office at the U.S. Capitol.

Agents quietly arrested Headley last week on a federal felony charge of threatening to assault and murder a public official with intent to impede, intimidate, and interfere with the official and his duties. Headley remains in jail, and his court hearing this week was postponed until next week.

assessing, estimating, planning for the fallout is part of the operation

In Robert Ludlum's books, big on world conspiracy and the 4th Reich, the fallout
is quiet, a few arrests, a few quiet retirements, everyone denies any knowledge
of what went down. Of course Ludlum understood the world of pre-internet days
where the public had limited knowledge and few news feeds. Now everyone
knows everything, instantly.

5. I don't know that they have the evidence. Evidence is different from knowing deep in your gut.

Proving something can be difficult.

I hope the evidence is there. I think it will be. But I don't know it is. AND although I respect Mueller, I don't know that Mueller will reach the same conclusions that others would, when faced with the same evidence. Even if he does, he's not the one who can DO anything about it.

Also...I think people are expecting Mueller to indict Trump or something. But he's not in the judiciary. He's acting as an investigator.

I think it's Congress who has to act on the Mueller report, and we've seen that they don't want to do anything detrimental to Trump's Presidency, no matter what.

10. Mueller has the power to seek indictments... house/senate only deals with impeachment ...mueller is

Building a comprehensive RICO case...
not writing a report for legislators to review.

Part of the media drip drip drip
And the repetition of old stories being reintroduced periodically is to build awareness amongst general population...
many of whom have not followed the money laundering/decades of financial relationships & closely and old stories are New to them

Trump die hard kool-aid drinkers are a concern...
But by adequately informing everyone outside of that group...
you reduce the die-hards' ability to attract supporters / be defended for any overt acts of violence related to their dissatisfaction with teamtrump related legal actions.

And NYAG is plan B...if Mueller is somehow removed...
NYAG has jurisdiction & can seek indictments on state RICO case...
which has added benefit...
POTUS can't pardon state convictions

Not to worry...evidence is abundant....

and maybe a recommendation of indictment (like Comey's report). The DOJ is under Trump's control at least to some extent.

I did hear on the news today or last night that Trump does have the authority to pardon himself from any crimes, just like he has the authority to pardon others, like his son. BUT...I guess they were speaking of a federal crime. So it's good to know he can't pardon himself if convicted under state law. But if the fed indicts & convicts him, he does have that authority?

THANKS SO MUCH. There is hope. Well, more than hope you seem to say.

you cant bring a criminal case against a sitting prez, all you can do is impeach which is nothing really, he leaves office after robbing us blind.

That is not justice.

He (Mueller) can SEEK indictments within the US DOJ, ran by rightwing sycophants who have proven already they will kiss the traitors ass.

So, DOJ, useless.

POTUS cant pardon state , THAT IS RIGHT, by george, good one!

There is hope then. Thanks

2. THIS is how a wacko Trumper addresses someone who ENDORSED Trump.

Imagine how he feels about the ones that didn't.

Cruz blessed this sort of person, when he endorsed Trump. There are wackos that no one is responsible for, for sure. But in this case, everyone knew that Trump was encouraging violence and was endorsed by the KKK, used to be a domestic terrorist group. And that Trump had admitted to molesting people before.

So no surprise.

Trump also tried to throw him under the bus for being born in a foreign country.

Trump has been repeatedly throwing out some vague suggestions hoping that someone out there will do something bad and it can't be directly traced back to him.

The San Antonio Express-News confirmed through law enforcement sources and others sources familiar with the matter that Headley supports President Donald Trump and was upset with the Houston Republican’s stance on a number of issues that don’t align with Trump’s views.

Well....congratulations creepy cruz
even your own party's constituents want to do physical harm to you ...
So much so
that they leave their threats on your answering machine....
