Poll: Trump trails Biden, Sanders, Warren, Harris, Booker in matchups

Source: the hill

By Max Greenwood - 07/18/17 11:54 AM EDT

President Trump trails former Vice President Joe Biden, Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and three Democratic senators in a new poll from a Democratic firm testing possible 2020 matchups.

The survey of registered voters, conducted by Public Policy Polling, found Trump trailing by wide margins against Sanders — 52 percent to 39 percent — and Biden — 54 percent to 39 percent.

The poll also found Trump losing in hypothetical matchups against Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.), Cory Booker (D-N.J.) and Kamala Harris (D-Calif.), although by smaller margins.

Trump trails Warren by 7 points, 42 percent to 49 percent; Booker by 5 points, 40 percent to 45 percent; and Harris by 1 point, 40 percent to 41 percent. ....

Of course way too early for anything to be meaningful, but shows Trump is vulnerable.

God, we really are fucked if even people on DU don't get this. Putin won.

I'd lean toward Biden or Harris - depending on how Kamala grows and builds. So far, so good. Biden is beloved, warts 'n' all.

But it's WAY too soon. WAY too soon! Cory Booker's interesting, but he's had a way-too-close-to-Wall-Street problem. NO to Warren and Sanders for my own personal reasons.

But it's a LONG time til 2020. A lot can happen and a lot can change between now and then.

I'd also be OK with Harris or Warren, based on my limited information. I don't know much about Booker. I think that Sanders should pass, as he didn't display sufficient determination to win last time.

I was a Bernie gal but he would just be too old in 2020, as would Biden. We need new young, energetic, progressive leaders....I know Warren is not young but she is not where Biden and Bernie will be in 2020.

Also....we need to walk and chew gum at the same time, we need to pour time, energy, and money on state and local races, we need to expose CrossCheck and the other right wing voting hanky panky including voting machines. We need to keep going after gerrymandering.

candidate in 2020. Mark my words, we are slower, weaker and way too tired to put up w/ what a President needs to tolerate. Trump s Exhibit #1 and I would hate for Biden, Warren, etc. to become Exhibit #2. We need to find younger and more vibrant people. It is time for boomers to give it up. Let's face it, we're not all Jimmy Carter!!!

Biden and Sanders are not relevant candidates anymore. They'll be pushing 80 by the next election, for fucks sake. And Warren is no spring chicken either.
