Tom Price admits that the new Trumpcare is only repeal, no replace
Source: Think Progress
During his presidential campaign, Donald Trump promised, over and over again, that he would replace Obamacare with something terrific, that would take care of everybody and be a lot less expensive for consumers and the government.
But despite claims by Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) that his latest version of Trumpcare would provide stability while improving affordability, Secretary of Health and Human Services Tom Price made a major admission about the bill Sunday: that the legislation to repeal and replace Obamacare would simply permit insurers return to the ways they used to operate.
On ABCs This Week, the longtime Obamacare critic was pressed by Jon Karl about a provision in the bill pushed by Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), which would allow insurance companies to offer sub-standard plans. Karl noted that not only do more than 10 medical groups and 32 cancer organizations oppose the Trumpcare bill, a rare joint statement by the biggest insurance companies in the country called the Cruz amendment unworkable in any form [as] it would lead to, widespread terminations of coverage.

(1,204 posts)My parents are part of that base and it amazes me how they don't seem to care about this. Umm now they are are all for the repeal and don't replace/replace later idea. They feel this way despite being put in an awful situation about 12 years ago when there were layoffs and they lost their ability to have much needed health insurance. They also know their own children have had hard times getting decent insurance pre-ACA because either we were stuck in the contract trap or were offered poor insurance from employers. They respond with a "Get new jobs that offer better insurance!!!" Never mind the issues I had in the past because of some pre-existing conditions. My little brother will no longer be able to be covered by their insurance if thing go back, and the chances of him being able to get a job that offers insurance is pretty slim at this time.
So despite them personally knowing the hardships of the old way, they don't care because "OBAMA SOCIALIST COMMIE!!!!"

(24,720 posts)they the right wing fascist presently sitting in power, can say that they dismantled a government agency, with there federalist dogma.
They have been attacking this social program since 1964, as being a hand out, and use it to stay in power to divide human beings.
They have nothing, they have only presented laws to hurt human beings and everything else that is not tied down, that is there only agenda, to hurt everything they come in contact with

(3,283 posts)to look these people in the eye and call them liars? The whole of the tRump/repub plan is a house of cards built on lies. Some on cable are saying this but until the daily news that most people watch (not me) start to hammer this constantly we are trying to swim up a waterfall.

Oh...it might take 4 or 5 years,so be sure and vote for Trump in 2020!!!!
