Fresh off his double date with French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife in Paris, Donald Trump returned to Twitter his favorite medium to press Republican Senators to pass their Obamacare replacement.
In a a four-part blast, Trump told his GOP colleagues that I will be at my desk, pen in hand! waiting to sign the final bill and gave a shoutout to Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Vice President Mike Pence.

Trump was invited by Macron to celebrate Frances national holiday Bastille Day. After a day of sightseeing, the two men and their wives dined at the famous French tourist trap Le Jules Verne. During a joint appearance, Trump took a series of tough questions from the media, but largely avoided the temptation to make new, unwelcome headlines.

(2,785 posts)Says Obamacare is a 7 year disaster. Dumbass probably doesn't even know the law didn't go in effect until 2014.
He did say one thing kind of true. Republicans are working hard to get their FAILED Obamacare replacement approved.
Damn right Trumpcare 2 is a total failure just like 3 will be if there is a 3. I hope not.

(17,445 posts)This false equivalency is one that makes it nearly impossible to rein in the insurance companies and their GOP cronies.
I had health insurance when I developed a major medical issue. I discovered that having good insurance did not guarantee good care.
I am one, if polled, would say I disapprove of the ACA. I would also say I support the ACA. I disapprove because, to a large extent, it was a handout to the insurance companies. I also support it because, it is better than what it replaced and much better than Trumpcare. I want it to stay in place with tweaks until something truly better can be worked out.
The most viable solution is to allow buy in to Medicare at any age. This would get the profits and overheads of all these middle men out of the costs of our Health Care. I will gladly pay a small amount more in taxes so the insurance executives can collect unemployment benefits.
Trump has said he will be angry if the Senate doesn't pass Trumpcare. Little Donnie (Sr.) will have millions upon millions of angry Americans if it does.

(9,865 posts)...orchestrated by Macron makes me mad as hell at Macron. He dignified this buffoon, swelled his chest with importance and made him look more Presidential to people here.
Macron doesn't care one whit how harmful Trump policies (oligarchical, racist, corrupt, etc.) are. Macron thinks he has the key and can flatter-control Trump. But at what cost over time?
