President Donald Trump on Thursday continued his attacks on CNN during his trip to Poland, saying that the network is facing serious problems and covers him in a very, very dishonest way.
Speaking alongside Polish President Andrzej Duda during a news conference in Warsaw, Trump also criticized NBC even though, he claimed, the network made "a fortune with The Apprentice, the reality TV show Trump hosted. But Trump reserved his strongest criticism for CNN, which came under fire this week after it published a story on a Reddit user who posted a World Wrestling Entertainment video portraying Trump hitting a man with a CNN logo superimposed on his face. Trump later tweeted the video.
CNNs Andrew Kaczynski wrote online that the network chose not to publish the Reddit posters name because he showed remorse, is a private citizen and promised not to do it again, but reserves the right to publish his identity should any of that change. That statement caused a fierce backlash, with some writing on Twitter and other social media platforms that CNN blackmailed the Reddit user.
I think what CNN did was unfortunate for them. As you know, now they have some pretty serious problems. They have been fake news for a long time, Trump said, when asked about the episode. CNN has really taken it too seriously. I think they've hurt themselves badly. Very, very badly.

Jeff Zucker: CNN Will Not be Intimidated by Trumps Bullying
by Ken Meyer | 10:19 am, July 6th, 2017
As the war continues between Donald Trump and CNN, Jeff Zucker says the network will not be cowed by the presidents intimidation.
CNN has taken a lot of fire recently, both for their retracted story about one of Trumps advisers, and for the controversial debate about whether the network is blackmailing the Redditor who created the CNN-wrestling GIF tweeted by the president. Zucker recently held a conversation with New York Times, and he talked about how the network faces increased scrutiny as it continues to get blasted by Trump and his supporters.
My job is to remind everyone that they need to stay focused doing their job, said Zucker. Hes trying to bully us, and were not going to let him intimidate us. You cant lose your confidence and let that change the way you conduct yourselves.
Zucker went on to speculate that Trump attacks CNN more than any other outlet because the networks viewers are open-minded and, therefore, more persuadable than other audiences. Zucker has offered similar statements in the past where he said CNN is held to a different standard than other new agencies for their fact-based reporting

(16,104 posts)Fox News viewers don't need persuasion.
MSNBC fans are pretty committed.
CNN viewers would seem to be the least ideological given the obvious choices.
However, attacking viewers of a network seems to be a really stupid idea!
Since the foremost indisputable characteristic of 'The Joke in the White House' is to lie, we have to assume the only true, factual news service we can rely on IS CNN!

(16,104 posts)Now - MSNBC will spin that fact one way, and Fox News will spin it the other way.
That's "opinion."
CNN seems to give us A LOT of both "opinions" - which annoys the shit out of both sides.
CNN may just be "the most informative choice."

(9,766 posts)I'm siding with 4chan and Reddit this time. CNN can't just go around threatening anonymous internet posters for no reason other than they think they can.
It frankly surprises me that so many in here are taking CNN's side just to spite Trump. Some things are just wrong.
If a liberal posted something similar using the FOX logo, and they issued the exact same statement CNN had, it would be fucking WWIII in here.
