Democratic senators on Thursday harshly criticized their Republican colleagues newly unveiled health care bill, warning that GOPers would own the consequences of repealing Obamacare and urging the public to read the proposal and to question their Republican representatives about it.
I thought it wouldnt be possible for the Senate Republicans to conjure up a bill even worse than that one. Unfortunately, that is what they have done, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said in a press conference after the bill was publicly released for the first time. In a speech on the Senate floor minutes after the bills release, Schumer had said the Senate bill is every bit as bad as the House GOPs version.
Surely we can do better than what the Republican health care bill promises, he told reporters. Every American should be asking their Republican senators one simple question this weekend why do the wealthy deserve a tax cut more than we deserve health care?

(535 posts)I'm sure the Gop lawmakers are reconsidering trump "care" as we speak.
I still can't believe we're at this point that trump "care" may become reality. Ugh.
I believe that was a MAJOR talking point in the 2016 elections. If the Senate and house became right wing, the ACA was going to be finally repealed. Well, here it is. I hate beating dead horses, but split elections of the democrat side caused this, not Russia, or obstruction, but Clinton voters, Sanders voters, Stein voters, and Libertarian voters, not coming together. "Elections have consequences" is not just a phrase, but a truth.
We have only begun to see the dismantle of this country, unless this party, this parties members, and all americans that are civilized human beings vote in 2018 to at least turn the Senate. If not, prepare for an epic failure in this country that will set us back, 100 years.
