Jay Sekulow, an attorney on President Donald Trump’s legal team, on Sunday said Trump is not under investigation despite a Washington Post report to the contrary and a tweet from Trump himself that appeared to confirm the report.

“He’s not afraid of the investigation. There is no investigation. I want to be clear here,” Sekulow said on NBC News’ “Meet the Press.”

When pressed to respond more generally to the federal probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election, he added: “There is not an investigation of the President of the United States. Period.” He said Trump posted the tweet in response to the Washington Post’s report.

“The response from the president, using social media, was about that story,” Sekulow said. “But let me be very clear here, as it has been since the beginning, the President is not and has not been under investigation for obstruction.”

Trump Lawyer Sends Mixed Messages About Russia Probe, Mueller, Tweets

By ESME CRIBB Published JUNE 18, 2017 11:16 AM

Jay Sekulow, an attorney on President Donald Trump’s legal team, on Sunday sent mixed messages about Trump’s remarks on Robert Mueller, special counsel overseeing the probe into Russian election meddling, his comments about the investigation itself, and whether Trump is being investigated for potential obstruction of justice.

On NBC News’ “Meet the Press,” Sekulow claimed Trump was not under investigation for obstruction of justice, despite a Washington Post report to the contrary and a tweet from the President that appeared to confirm the report. “There is not an investigation of the President of the United States. Period,” Sekulow said.

On CBS’ “Face the Nation,” Sekulow also claimed Trump was not notified that he was under investigation. “There has been no notification from the special counsel’s office that the president is under investigation,” he said. “I can’t imagine a scenario where the president would not be aware of it.”

On “Fox News Sunday,” however, Sekulow appeared to be less clear on his talking points.

What they don't get is that he has and always WILL impulsively blurt out what he thinks is happening to him.

Since we all know that the president does not lie, and any statement from the White House staff is the gospel truth.

Thank you so much for the facts on the matter!

It is impossible for someone to know that they are NOT under investigation. Even if they know they were not under investigation at some point in the past.

I used to listen to his daily radio show on the local Christian station, just for shits and giggles. I can't believe Trump thinks he's the right guy for this. The only thing I can think is that he's buddies with a lot of the GOP fundies, but as a lawyer, useless IMO.

The attorney didn't really explain what we are to believe.

Not what Trump tweets. Not what Trump says. Not what Trump promises. Not what Trump does. Not where Trump goes.

No one on earth can believe this jackass in the White House!

Wonder if he's all in with Russia like drumpf's personal attorney? Funny, how every one around him are Russia's stooges, wonder if Putin told him who to hire? It certainly seems that way. Wonder about his national security folks, are they similarly on the take from Russia? I haven't heard that, but certainly wouldn't be surprised either, since those are the people the orange assface surrounds himself with.

The Lawyer is just an expensive spokesman. This is legal strategy. Trump is a piece of shit thug. I can't convey that bluntly enough.

Schiff is on point. Scorched earth strategy by Trump's corporate vulture lawyers to discredit Mueller. Good luck with that.

Aside from not listening to advice, that's the main reason many won't take his case. Several have had to sue him for big debts. The ones who do seem likely get some other independent business benefit.

25. Is Mike Pence pulling a Gerald Ford or a Spiro Agnew?

Pence is either getting ready to become an incoming president or an outgoing vice president
Matthew Rozsa

Vice President Mike Pence’s decision to hire his own lawyer for the special counsel investigation into alleged ties between Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and the Russian government can mean one of two things — or perhaps even both things at the same time.

Either Pence is concerned that he may face charges of his own, or — believing that he is innocent — he wants to separate his own legal fate from that of a president whose innocence he (for good reason) doubts.
If the latter prospect is true, of course, it’s doubtful that Pence will ever admit this publicly. As the Watergate scandal began to swallow up Richard Nixon, and Vice President Gerald Ford was confronted with the prospect that he would be thrust into the presidency, Ford nevertheless maintained his public defenses of the president. This was both politically necessary (Nixon was a fellow Republican, after all) and morally astute (it would be unseemly for the man who might benefit from Nixon’s downfall to seem to contribute to it).

Although Pence should avoid defending Trump so vehemently that he winds up looking complicit, it is best for him to refrain from seeming over-eager at ascending to the White House himself. That said, if he has sound reason to suspect that Trump is about to take a mighty fall, it is wise for him to determine how he can best protect himself from a strictly legal standpoint

http://www.salon.com/2017/06/16/is-mike-pence-pulling-a-gerald-ford-or-a-spiro-agnew/

Who remembers Spiro anyway ! For my two cents he's pulling a an Agnew !

Trump once claimed during his climb to the republican nomination that he is the Lone Ranger ! If Trump is Chris Christie's rock ,Christie must be Trump's cushion. Before The Fall !
