Graham: Trump May Be First President To 'Go Down' Because He Kept Tweeting

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published JUNE 11, 2017 11:50 AM

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) on Sunday said President Donald Trump could be the first president to “go down” as a result of his inability to stop tweeting about the investigations he appears to view as a threat.

“You may be the first president in history to go down because you can’t stop inappropriately talking about an investigation that, if you just were quiet, would clear you,” Graham said on CBS’ “Face the Nation.”

He said Trump’s tweeting is a source of frustration for Republicans. “This is not helping,” Graham said.

Trump nevertheless began Sunday with one of his by-now regular Twitter salvos at Democrats and fired FBI Director James Comey.

But....It's his possible abuse of power, obstruction of Justice, conflicts of interest, money laundering, collaboration with the enemy to steal an election that had us all under stress.

Tweeting does not make him guilty. It is a lemon gumdrop on the icing on the cake, not even the icing on the cake and certainly not the substance of the cake.

Until Graham starts articles of impeachment with Mcconnell - neither is even worth the time of day.

Indulge yet another Watergate comparison, but Martha Mitchell, Nixon AG John Mitchell's wife, was infamous for her telephone calls to people saying her hubby wasn't going to be a scapegoat and other things.

Trump's and his family's tweets are the modern day equivilent of Martha Mitchell's yakking.
