No change to plans for Trump visit to Britain: May spokeswoman

Source: Reuters

Sun Jun 11, 2017 | 9:40am EDT

There has been no change to plans for U.S. President Donald Trump's state visit to Britain, Prime Minister Theresa May's office said on Sunday, after the Guardian reported the trip had been postponed.

The newspaper, citing an unnamed adviser at May's office, said Trump had told May by telephone in recent weeks that he did not want to come until the British public supported his visit.

"We aren't going to comment on speculation about the contents of private phone conversations. The Queen extended an invitation to President Trump to visit the UK and there is no change to those plans," a spokeswoman for May's office said.

would greet him in the UK. The Brits LOATHE him. I know my relatives there despise him, and can not believe the US actually VOTED for the clown.

...he's the gentleman who coined the term "shitgibbon" for Trump.

He's also an excellent source to follow on Twitter for anyone who wants to keep a pulse on U.K. sentiment regarding Trump. He has 3866 followers and they're all pretty vocal about their disdain for what has been happening.

Any world leader who entertains trump is going to receive voter backlash.

They are calling it show your rump for Trump.

This would be one of the most watched spectacles, I will watch, thousands of Brits mooning Trump along his travel route.

Show your rumps!!! Give the Donald a welcome he will hate for the rest of his short-lived Presidency. I will surely watch this. Have plenty of signs to wave as well.

Is that he won't see it as an insult, but be uncontrollably excited by all the exposed flesh. The last thing we need is the Predator-in-Chief groping Londoners and screaming "Diplomatic Immunity!" as he's dragged back to his plane. And then his popularity among the "Science is Fake News!" crowd would go up even more.

I doubt he makes this trip as he is seen as an enemy of the British people right now.

Like I've been saying all along, this is just starting, Trump will do more harm than you can imagine in the coming years. The World will start to organize against the US very soon, with Trump at the helm we are a threat.

That would be never. If he means it, he ain't going. Besides, May is becoming irrelevant anyway.
