Pacific Gas and Electric Co. has settled the last of the wrongful death lawsuits filed against the company in connection with the 2010 explosion of a natural-gas pipeline in San Bruno that killed eight people, attorneys said Friday.
About 350 lawsuits are still pending in San Mateo County Superior Court as a result of the disaster, in which 38 homes in the Crestmoor neighborhood were destroyed.
But on Thursday, PG&E and plaintiffs' attorneys announced they had agreed on settlements in lawsuits filed by the survivors of five of those killed in the explosion and fire. Those victims were Jacqueline Greig, 44, who worked as a customer advocate for the California Public Utilities Commission; her 13-year-old daughter, Janessa; and the family of Lavonne Bullis, 85, her 50-year old son, Greg, and 17-year-old grandson, William.
Neither PG&E nor the plaintiffs' attorneys would discuss terms of the settlements, including how much the company will pay the victims' relatives.
