Rolling back Cuba policies would cost US $6.6B: report

Source: The Hill

Cutting off commercial and diplomatic ties with Cuba would hurt the U.S. economy and threaten thousands of jobs, according to a report released Thursday.

Engage Cuba, an anti-embargo advocacy group, estimates that completely rolling back former President Obama’s historic rapprochement with Cuba would cost the economy $6.6 billion and impact 12,295 American jobs over the course of President Trump’s first term in office.

"Our new relationship with Cuba has led to tangible results for American companies, created U.S. jobs, and strengthened Cuba's growing private sector,” said James Williams, president of Engage Cuba.

“If President Trump rolled back our Cuba policy, he would add job-killing government regulations on U.S. businesses. This directly conflicts with President Trump's campaign promises of removing onerous regulations and red tape on U.S. businesses.”

The more he backtracks on Obama, the more he creates a dreadful legacy for himself. Although I don't see how anything could be worse than being a traitor to your country.

Their need for petty revenge is far more important than the national interest, don'tchaknow.

build a hotel and invited him for a visit then he would back off cutting off commercial ties. He loved dictators and countries that cater to him.

Through a back channel (if you don't have one, route through Russia/Putin), contact Jared (USA/WH/Trump) about getting a Trump Hotel in Havana. Don't screw around. The location must be prime. Even if you have to evict current owner. Jared has financial backers ready to go with hotel/casino.

Oops: see that I was 1 minute late in helping Cuba with their problem.

The states that would be hit hardest by a Cuba rollback are those with deepwater ports and those close to Cuba, including Florida, Louisiana, Texas, Alabama, Georgia and Mississippi.

All GOP/TRUMP states.
