Dem Reps: Trump is 'moving' towards impeachment

Source: The Hill

BY JONATHAN EASLEY - 05/10/17 01:48 PM EDT

Two Democratic members of the House said Wednesday President Trump is marching down the path toward impeachment after firing FBI director James Comey, even if they don’t have the votes yet to follow through in the House.

Speaking on a conference call organized by the Progressive Change Campaign Coalition, Reps. Ruben Gallego (D-Az.) and Marc Pocan (D-Wis.) said Comey's firing would unite Democrats in an effort to impeach to impeach the president.

The Democrats said they would first need to prove Trump was guilty of obstruction of justice or criminal malfeasance in colluding with a foreign government. Before Trump fired him, Comey had been investigating potential links between the Trump campaign and Russia.

The lawmakers also acknowledged Democrats would likely need to take back the House in 2018 before any impeachment.

At some point, if they perceive that Trump has become a liability, they might get rid of him. I think many/most of them would rather have Pence anyway.

That said, I think it's more likely he would resign when he gets sick of all this. He is NOT having fun now, and you always have to remember... with Trump. it's always about Trump, nobody else really counts.

That he stands by Trumps Twitter remarks and all of Trumps' lies. He may be worse than Trump if he can lie to the public as well as Trump. And he states he is a devout Christian....which is hypocrisy! I feel he hides behind religion in order to do whatever he wants. And I am talking of outright lies he has spoken publicly....not sure how Pence can claim he is a true Christian with lying as well as he does.

It's time for the new generation of Democrats to take over.
For now, no there will be no impeachment but like Nixon Trump will resign to save face and use the excuse to manage his failing business's

They need 25 to take back the House. Between now and 2018 with the Health Care bill debate I would say the Democrats have a good chance to do just that plus a few seats fo insurance

advantage over the Democrats for taking back the House..The Senate will swing toward the Democrats because of the way the Republicans are putting Party over Patriotism by ignoring their Constitutional Duty

In bed last night unable to get to sleep, I thought if I was a D member of Congress, I'd take to the floor of the House and make this little speech:

"After reviewing the still-unfolding events of collusion with a hostile foreign government, the abuse of power and emoluments violations, and yesterday's firing of the Director of the FBI, I realize to my regret that I may not be the one lucky to cast the vote creating a legislative majority. But, standing here today, I can make the very first vote, however symbolic.

Therefore - in the matter of the impeachment of the President of the United States, Donald John Trump, I vote "AYE"!

Won't happen but for the sheer theater of it....!! And just to watch the stubby-fingered ambulatory raw nerve flip into uncontrollable rage....SWEET!

Conservatives all over screamed for Obama to be impeached every time he signed an executive order.

Dems shouldn't say Trump's "moving toward" impeachment, as though some third party is proposing this and they're just pointing it out. They, themselves, should just announce that THEY are moving him toward impeachment and start writing up the articles already.

Also, be aware that if Dems start an impeachment drive, Repubs will surely start a 'charge Hillary' drive in pure, asshole-ic retribution. And since they own the justice department now, it'll surely happen. In fact, with Comey gone, they'll probably start to do it anyway.

...because - say it with me - REPUBLICANS ARE ASSHOLES!

it was put in places where those who would collude with Trump would not even be able to access it to find out what is known.

I hope Comey and his lieutenants were smart enough to do the same thing, because it is a sure bet that those who collude with Trump will go wild deleting, destroying, and shredding every bit of evidence they can get their hands on!

All I can do is laugh at this point. As human beings, how can this allowed to continue. For fuck's sake. All it is now is garish bread and circuses.
