'Incredible honour:' Malala Yousafzai receives honorary Canadian citizenship

Malala Yousafzai has formally received her honorary Canadian citizenship, calling it "an incredible honour."

The Nobel Peace Prize recipient and girls' education activist becomes only the sixth person to receive honorary Canadian citizenship, and she is now set to make history as the youngest person to address Parliament.

She accepted a certificate from Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and will make her address in the House of Commons at noon ET. CBC.ca is carrying the event live.

Yousafzai began her busy day in Ottawa by making a surprise visit to Ottawa's Ridgemont High School, where she delivered a strong message to the diverse student population, calling for a collective fight for change.

Not a good example of how the US treats humanitarian needs.

But it is a great example of how the trump debases everything he touches. Oooh - am I the first to call him a false Midas?

I didn't realize only six people have ever received an honorary Canadian citizenship.
