Senate intel panel declines Flynn immunity offer 'at this time': report

Source: The Hill

The Senate Intelligence Committee has turned down former national security adviser Michael Flynn’s request for immunity in exchange for his testimony in the panel’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election — at least for now.

The committee is not receptive to the offer “at this time,” according to NBC's Kasie Hunt.

The panel's investigation into Russian interference in the election is ongoing, and the decision does not necessarily rule out such a deal in the future.

Committee Chairman Richard Burr (R-N.C.) earlier in the week strongly implied that Flynn would be a potential witness before the committee — telling reporters that "you would think less of us" if the committee had not talked with him.

if someone is gullible enough to offer it before finding out what he has to offer or its offered as part of an attempt to prevent Flynn from actually offering up anything that would endanger someone higher up like Trump, McConnell or Ryan assuming Flynn even knows something which I doubt as Trump could simply issue him a pardon if he was in danger and knew something that threatened Trump.

1) They record what he says under oath
2) They verify what he says
3) He says the EXACT SAME thing in public under oath

Also no immunity unless what he says is new info and has strong potential to convict others rather than just himself.

unless there's some pressing reason. Unless they KNOW he can nail the ringleader, and WILL, and we need that testimony to get key evidence on the ringleader.

There are plenty of credible sources without the need to grant a few special snowflakes immunity to get to the bottom of it.

So, suck it, Flynn.

It seems apparent that the fix is on and has been from the get-go with this investigation as far as the R's are concerned.
They may want to prep him.
They may want to scapegoat him, blaming everything since WWII on him.
They may want to finish all the investigating when he's done testifying.
With immunity he'd have no reason to hold back.

Dunno. But I don't trust them any farther than I can throw that garbage-bag Nunes.

Two nights ago on Lawrence, Johnson immediately noticed this inexplicable Senate "caveat" and remarked that no
compelling investigation can ever be done without granting a flipper immunity...he seemed to suggest that this atypical, ad hoc denial of immunity for Flynn was a premature obstruction of the investigation by the Senate Committee. They categorically took their major truth finding tool off the table.

Yep, I don't trust any Republican controlled committee "investigation" either Senate or House at all. Burr's performance is especially revolting to watch

This is the time for Kamala Harris to stand up, speak out and demonstrate her prosecutorial expertise.
