Caught on camera: The moment police fired at women and children with rubber bullets in LA 'riot'

Last edited Mon Jul 23, 2012, 12:50 PM - Edit history (1)

Source: Daily Mail

The headline says "LA" but actually this is in Anaheim:

Police dog rushes into crowd and bites man in fight on the street

Riot started after fatal shooting of man, 24, who was running from officers

Two policemen suspended in aftermath of protests

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Shocking video has emerged which depicts police officers firing rubber bullets into a rioting crowd which includes women and children.
The footage also shows a police dog rushing in to the fray and nearly knocking over a mother who was pushing her baby in a stroller.
The violent scenes came in the wake of an incident where a 24-year-old man was shot dead after running away from police, two of whom have now been suspended.

As officers were investigating what happened at the scene in Anaheim, California on Saturday, an angry group of people began yelling and throwing bottles at them, according to Sergeant Bob Dunn.
After police detained several people, the crowd apparently advanced on the officers, who responded by firing tear gas and beanbag rounds at them.

Video captured by a bystander and broadcast by KCAL-TV showed a chaotic scene in which officers fired beanbag rounds as some people ducked to the ground and others scattered screaming.

A man is seen yelling at an officer even as a weapon is pointed at him, while two adults huddled to shield a boy and girl.
Meanwhile, a police dog ran into several people sitting on the grass, including a woman and a child in a stroller, before biting a man in the arm.

The woman with the child was Susan Lopez, who tearfully told KCAL: 'They just released the dog, and I had my baby in my stroller.'

The way NRA proponents encourage.

Who thinks that would have made the situation better?

It would endanger people even more and would have given the police a stronger defense for their horrific actions.

So they don't see where "Citizens" (as in Whites) are being assaulted at all.

Never mind that California was once part of Mexico and some of these, so called, "Mexicans" are the sixth generation decedents of people who voted for Statehood in 1849. They will NEVER accept the notion that these "Mexicans" are legal Citizens equal to themselves. They can't look at them without thinking they are illegal and on welfare and need to be deported.

I can't help thinking, in light of the gun nuts' typical reaction to recent events:

Where are all the RKBA supporters and NRA members who swear they have a right to be heavily armed to prevent government from abusing our rights?

Most, by choice, do not live in California due to the gun restrictions and CCW restrictions.

Usually, these stories get buried. The people of Anahiem (mostly Latino) have had several incidents in recent months. Now there is film footage.

You can be shot in the back while you are cowering in fear saying, "I want my mommy."

Or you can be yelling "Die mother fucker!" while aiming a gun at the policemen and see he's already aiming at you. You spin around and get shot in the back.

One's self defense. One isn't. So, yeah, in principle you can be shot in the back in self defense. Police have human reaction times. They're people.

My first reaction when I saw the dog bite the civilian was, that if that had been a civilian's dog even motioning towards a policeman, then that dog would have been shot.

But since it's a cop's dog doing the biting then AOK!

I love dogs and I'm sure the dog was only doing what the cops told him to do. But man... I fucking hate cops.
