Donald Trump takes 12th golf trip since becoming President nine weeks ago

Source: The Independent

Donald Trump has this weekend taken his twelfth golfing holiday since his presidential inauguration just over nine weeks ago.

Departing the White House for the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia, it is unclear whether he plans to do anything other than tee off.

The White House has made no comment regarding the trip, which the US leader's eighth consecutive weekend visit to a Trump-owned property, according to NBC News.

Each of these trips costs $3 million (£2.4 million), according to an analysis by the Politico website. If correct, the President's golfing trips alone may have already cost the taxpayer $36 million dollars (£28.9 million).

I lived in Mechanicsville, St. Mary's County from August 2002 through March 2012. In 2012 we moved to the eastern shore, although I kept my primate care physician. I'd drive from Easton to California, Maryland once a month. Did that for four years until my dr retired. I was lucky to find a dr over here that has no problem prescribing me meds. That's the reason I kept my dr for so long.

upon the draft-&-tax dodging republican billionaire so he can luxuriate in regal splendor on high-end golf courses with other republican fat cats?

I mean, wouldn't it be less than patriotic to begrudge $3 million-a-trip of our public tax money on the cascade of gourmet golf trips for the flabby-assed republican billionaire, so he need not burden himself with the expense of self-amusement.

Only a pointy-headed LibTard, I suppose, could possibly object to such regal largesse for such a special republican guy.

Formerly known as Lowes Island Golf Course. Located just inside the Loudoun County line. Trump bought the course about 10 years ago and promptly raised the fees and added Caddies to the course. He demanded that the members use the caddies at least twice a week. Many members sold thier memberships back to the club. As far as I know it is a golf club only and does not have overnight accommodations. If Twitler was going to play golf there it would be quicker to take Marine One as the course is on the Potomac River. It would also keep the congestion off the roads which are your standard 2 lane county roads. On a different note how many rounds of golf had Obama played at this point in his Presidency. I think it was zero.

I have a feeling that they will run the shuttles from the Dulles Towncenter Mall. The roads are 2 lanes in each direction so they can get congested very easily. Thank god I will be out of town that weekend.

People schedule weddings and wedding parties there and pay big money to do so. I wonder how him showing up affects these customers of his venue. I suspect he doesn't give a damn.

We have done events in DC where notables as high as the Vice President attend, but it's known in advance that an unnamed VIP is attending and arrangements are made to vet crew, inspect vehicles and equipment.

My impression on the last gig there, was that maintenance was lacking and that the venue was being squeezed for every dollar it could produce. I'm sure this visit will help the balance sheet at the taxpayer's expense.

Sun Mar 26, 2017, 02:46 PM
Mar 2017

Look, I understand that where he goes, the Secret Service has to follow. And yes, I know they have special vehicles and have to make plans and whatnot, but even so, there is no way that an afternoon trip to Virginia from Washington DC has to cost $3m. None whatsoever. I fail to see how it can even cost $100k, but let's be charitable (not that he deserves it) and say that it should cost $100K.

So, where's the rest of the money going? It shouldn't be too hard to answer that one folks. Clearly it's in the pockets of our President.
