McCain: Rand Paul 'is now working for Vladimir Putin'

Source: Daily Beast as broadcast on CSpan

Senator John McCain on Wednesday directly accused fellow Republican Senator Rand Paul of working for Russian President Vladimir Putin. While speaking from the Senate floor in support of a bill advancing Montenegro's bid to join NATO, McCain noted objection from the Kentucky Senator, saying, "You are achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin...trying to dismember this small country which has already been the subject of an attempted coup."

The ones I've known in my career were underqualified and yet over-employed (Peter Principle) and lacking even an ounce of empathy for humanity.

And for budgeting had no enthusiasm for the concept of "bulk buying" or "economies of scale" and would follow the old saying "stepping over stacks of dollars to pick up a penny".

They also had a way of slipping in inappropriate near-innuendo. Ugh.

I'm a young black woman but I went through a similar libertarian phase - that's why I know it's complete BS.

Maybe the bribe they offered little Johnny was too small? Everyone knows these politicians only run for $$$$ and not the salary. It is chickenfeed, compared to the lobbyists clients checks. They all end up millionaires, or multi-millionaires. McCain will back tRump just as any money grubbing gop politician will.

From The Washington Examiner:

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/john-mccain-accuses-rand-paul-of-working-for-vladimir-putin/article/2617475

Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., on Wednesday accused Sen. Rand Paul, R-Ky., of “working for Vladimir Putin” after Paul blocked consideration of a treaty that would allow Montenegro into the United Nations.

McCain tried to call up the treaty and warned that anyone blocking it would be helping Russia maintain its influence over the small country across the Adriatic Sea from Italy.

“If there’s objection, you are achieving the objectives of Vladimir Putin,” McCain warned. “If they object, they are now carrying out the desires and ambitions of Vladimir Putin, and I do not say that lightly.”

Apparently, Rand Paul immediately objected and did not offer a reason for doing so. McCain did not hold back:

“The only conclusion you can draw when he walks away is he has no argument to be made,” he said. “The senator from Kentucky is now working for Vladimir Putin,” McCain concluded.

Oh, wait. IOKIYAR (and male).

It's nice to see the usually principled, if misguided, senator I grew up with, instead of the jellyfish McCain turned into to please the RNC and get his mitts on the Resolute Desk. I have more often than not disagreed with McCain, but I once respected him despite differences. This is the first time that's been true in many, many years.
