Iowa Rep. Steve King said Monday that blacks and Hispanics "will be fighting each other" before overtaking whites in the US population.
King, a Republican, was on the radio responding to a question about Univision anchor Jorge Ramos' comment to Tucker Carlson on Fox News that whites would become a majority-minority demographic in America by 2044, a point Ramos used to make the argument that it is a multiracial country.
"Jorge Ramos' stock in trade is identifying and trying to drive wedges between race," King told Iowa radio host Jan Mickelson on 1040 WHO. "Race and ethnicity, I should say to be more correct. When you start accentuating the differences, then you start ending up with people that are at each other's throats. And he's adding up Hispanics and blacks into what he predicts will be in greater number than whites in America. I will predict that Hispanics and the blacks will be fighting each other before that happens."

(7,398 posts)That man is the ass-end of Caucasianity. Just the dirtiest, ugliest bottom-feeding tube worm ever spawned by the European Africans. His mind reminds me of an old oil catch pan that hasn't been emptied since 1952. Closer to that newly-discovered 1.6 billion year old red algae than any actual human being.
Someday, I hope it all comes right back at him.

(160,592 posts)What a shame the media simply scribble down whatever drool he spews, and never question him, just as they don't other racist scum Republicans.
It's almost comical hearing he is making new filthy insults against human beings again. He doesn't realize sane people can't respect him and his fellow degenerates, and he's making a phenomenal fool of himself.

His voters undoubtedly sent him to Washington to make him go away.

(58,785 posts)pure projection. Ramos is greatly admired, and this isn't exactly going to earn him friends over there.
That said, Hispanics and blacks have the usual percentages of the bigotry-motivated type of conservatives among them, and there have always been hostilities between them. Of course. What else would one expect of conservative bigots? A long history of white bigots bringing in Hispanic immigrants specifically to take jobs from blacks never exactly helped.

(599 posts)People like him have been feeling emboldened with Trump's win and the rise of ethnic nationalism in some European countries. KKKing might not be a "card-carrying" member of a white nationalist group, but he could fit right in with them if he joined one.

(45,494 posts)they seemed liberal not too long ago. What happened to the state that elected Dems like Tom Harkin and the fourth state to legalize gay marriage?
But I respect that he is open about his beliefs. Many people quietly hold these bigoted beliefs and irrational fears without acknowledging it. As more of them open up, the irony is that whites are being increasingly divided between liberal/conservative, rural/urban, etc.

Big friggin' deal!
King should know that most Hispanics are fluent in English while some never really learned Spanish.

(33,643 posts)something something ... What they're accusing Democrats of ... something something ...
Actually I gotta lol at his whole 'Look, Ye Whitemen ... LOOK ... at this evil brownskin, quoting his 'demographic statistics' and his 'scientific facts' and such! Damn Him! DAMN HIM TO HELL!!! DIVIDER AND USURPER!!!" spiel.
It's what I'd call 'a classic' ...

(62,532 posts)It's just a matter of time, before they try to make it mainstream and castigate anyone who calls them out for it. Saying something along the lines, "are you attacking me for my beliefs!!??!?!?"
It's going to happen.
